We live in a hectic world. We appear to be always on the go, faiing to stop to catch a breath. Here is an idea by which we can introduce mini pauses into our day and into our lives. The simple practice of taking a three pause before moving from one thing to the next. What could be more simple or more needed?

Dear friends,

How often do we fall into situations without thinking?

Operating on autopilot,

We sometimes find ourselves coming out with an unhelpful comment.

Or we mutter a vague reply to someone without really listening to what they've just said.

Autopilot kicks in in so many situations.

All of us have found ourselves at times running from one project to the next without stopping to catch a breath.

Without a pause.

Without allowing ourselves a moment for reflection.

We have a simple remedy to overcome mistakes like this.

A three second pause to come to yourself.

Your phone rings.

Take three seconds before you mindfully answer.

You need to call someone.

Take three thoughtful seconds before pressing the call button.

Three seconds to silently wish the other person well.

Someone says something hurtful to you.

Take three seconds before you respond.

If indeed you feel you need to respond at all.

You've finished a task or an aspect of a task.

Take just three seconds before moving on to the next stage.

Three seconds maybe to take a sip of water before you move on.

How many of us hydrate ourselves as much as we know we should?

And that's it.

Just three seconds.

It's no time at all.

It can be applied to any situation you come across.

So give yourself this gift of mindful mini reflection anytime and any day.

Stopping to recollect yourself.

To catch a breath.

To realise your presence,

Your aliveness.

The life of possibility that you enjoy today.

A life that is lived single action by single action.
