Welcome to this Yoga Nidra session for sleep,
Empowering you to connect to the infinite wisdom within your heart and to embrace a sense of tranquility and fulfillment.
As you drift off to sleep,
Please take this time to become still and silent,
Finding a comfortable position where you can surrender your body completely,
Take a deep breath in and exhale slowly.
Again,
Inhale deep and slowly exhale.
Let your breath become calm and steady and allow your body to relax more and more deeply.
With each exhalation,
Close your eyes and imagine standing at the base of the mighty Himalayas.
As you gaze up at the towering peaks,
You feel a deep sense of awe and reverence.
With each step,
You ascend higher.
Guided by the invigorating mountain air,
Beside you is a rushing stream flowing down from the mountains.
You follow its path,
Catching glimpses of snow-covered peaks in the distance.
Climbing steadily,
You reach a point where the trail becomes challenging,
But with determination,
You overcome the various obstacles and continue your ascent.
Finally,
You arrive at the remote source of the sacred river and a pristine hidden realm opens up just for you.
There,
Surrounded by gods and goddesses,
You pass through a portal into a realm of enlightenment and wisdom.
In this lush garden,
You discover your essential oneness with the universe,
The depths of your inner wisdom,
And a profound connection to all things.

Recall your sankalpa or any resolution you are currently working with in your life.
Alternatively,
You can repeat the following affirmation,
I am connected to the wisdom of the universe,
And I embrace a sense of tranquility and fulfillment as I rest and sleep.

Now,
Become a silent witness to the breath which is flowing in and out of your body spontaneously without the least bit of effort on your part.
As you inhale,
You are drawing the life force of the universe into your body,
Re-energizing and revitalizing every cell.
And as you exhale,
You are releasing all impurities and stagnant air which dissipates into the air away from you.
Feel the soothing sensation of cool air entering through the nostrils,
Trace the flow of air within the breath through the nasal passages,
Throat,
And chest.
Feel the vitality of the breath entering into your lungs,
Expanding all the tiny sacks of air and then releasing and relaxing during the exhalation.
Feel the air dissolving in the center of the chest directly back from the sternum during the inhalation and then feel the air dissolving at the same location outside the chest during the exhalation.
Inhale inside the sternum and exhale outside the sternum,
Feeling this singular point to be both the origination and termination of the breath.
Remain a detached witness to the subtle motions of the breath.
Now,
Again,
See yourself standing at the base of the Himalayas,
Looking up at the majestic peaks towering above you.
Allow yourself to feel a sense of awe for these ancient mountains,
Knowing that they have been here for millions of years.
With each step you take,
You are climbing higher and higher,
Feeling the crisp mountain air reinvigorating your body and mind.
You come across a rushing stream with its crystal-clear waters tumbling down from the highest mountains above.
As you follow the river upstream,
You pass through corridors of cliffs on both sides as well as rushing rapids and cascading streams.
You climb higher still,
Your legs carrying you effortlessly up the mountain path.
As you reach a bend in the trail,
You see a scantily clad yogi sitting beside the river in deep meditation.
You can feel a sense of perfect peace emanating from their presence.
You continue following the rushing water and notice the cool mist on your face.
You continue along the winding path,
Ascending higher and even higher until you reach a point where the rugged trail becomes much more challenging.
You come across an avalanche area.
The snow and ice threaten to block your path.
You take a deep breath and steady yourself,
Focusing on your goal and your determination to reach the sacred source.
You carefully press on,
Crossing a narrow wire footbridge suspended high above the rushing river below.
The sound of the water echoes in your ears and you can feel the gentle swaying of the boat.
You reach a bridge under your feet.
It seems as though this path is too perilous and you begin to question why you came.
You remember the comforting lodges and resorts back down in the valley and for a moment,
You're about to turn back,
But then you feel a sense of determination and inspiration welling up from deep within your soul.
You know there is some special reason that you have embarked upon this journey and you find renewed strength to continue on the path.
Finally,
You reach the remote source of the river,
A pristine and untouched glacier in the shape of the mouth of a cow which very few have ever seen.
You feel a sense of awe and wonder as you stand before this sacred place and suddenly you notice an opening in the glacier with a curious light shining from deep within.
Entering into the frigid waters,
You walk through the cave and suddenly find yourself in a hidden realm of lush ancient forests,
Blossoming flowers,
And an endless variety of fruit trees.
There are enormous towering stone temples all around you built into the landscape.
As you take in the magical beauty of your surroundings,
You notice a group of gods and goddesses gathering around you.
They greet you warmly and invite you to come join them in this hidden realm of enlightenment and secret wisdom.
When one special individual approaches you,
Somehow you recognize them.
This person has always been here with you,
Guiding your wisdom.
Since early childhood,
You find yourselves both standing together in a lush garden,
Surrounded by vibrant colors and a sense of perfect peace and serenity.
Your guide takes you through the garden,
Answering any questions you might have while showing you the secrets of the universe and revealing mysteries of your heart,
The hub of all sacred places.
You learn the true nature of existence,
The secrets of your own consciousness,
And discover the depths of your inner creative power.
You feel a sense of total oneness with all life and a deep connection to the natural world around you.
You and your guide are not separate.
All these gods and goddesses exist within you as you.
You experience your body as the meeting point between heaven and earth,
And you know that you can manifest the life of your dreams just by harnessing your creative power as you now become established in self-knowledge.
You are now ready to leave this remote heavenly dimension.
The gods and goddesses guide you back to the portal.
You bid farewell to your guide,
Yet knowing that they are always there with you.
You pass through the gateway,
Once again feeling a rush of energy and weightlessness coming out of the icy waters.
You find yourself back at the glacier,
Feeling completely renewed,
Rejuvenated,
And inspired by your journey.
Before climbing back down to the world,
You sit in full lotus position on a boulder and take a moment to reflect on all that you have experienced and learned,
Feeling a sense of gratitude for this opportunity to explore the mysteries of life and your own heart.
Now coming onto your feet,
You follow the winding path back down the mountain,
Crossing the wire footbridge and the avalanche area with ease.
You feel a sense of accomplishment and pride knowing that you have conquered the challenges of the journey.
Finally,
You arrive back at the base of the mountain,
Feeling a sense of completion and fulfillment as you make your way back to your lodging beside the wide sacred river.
It feels so good to crawl into your bed,
Close your eyes,
And drift off into deeply rejuvenating sleep.
