Hello,
This is Wendy Dixon.
I'd like to welcome you to today's visualisation meditation which is called the Blanket of Love.
I'd like you to start by taking a moment to come to a comfortable and seated position,
Turning your attention towards your breath and making any adjustments that you need to for comfort.
Taking one or two deep breaths in and slowly and gently releasing.
When you're ready,
Close your eyes or lower your gaze and now very gently notice any tension that you may be holding in the area of the jaw and kindly and without judgement just allow this to seep downward and into the earth.
Now notice any tension you might be holding in your neck or shoulders and just see if you can allow that tightness to slowly melt running down your body and into the ground that can hold and transform it.
Notice any other places within your body where you might be holding or bracing.
Any tension that you might have,
Just grant it permission,
Even if it's just for the next short while,
To take a break and release any tension that can be safely and comfortably released.
And now I'd like you to imagine a blanket.
This blanket is made from the most beautiful,
Delightful material that you can think of.
For some it might be silk,
For others it might be soft and warm like a fleece.
Alternatively your blanket might be made of flowers or it might be made of the softest,
Most natural wool that you can imagine.
Now that you can visualise or imagine that blanket,
Just notice what colour it is.
Maybe your blanket is a solid colour or it may be patterned or multi-toned.
Let it take on whatever colour or colours you gravitate towards the most,
Anything that soothes and comforts you.
Now I'd like you to imagine this blanket draping over you in the most gentle and loving way and as it touches your body you realise that this blanket is infused with deep,
Unquestioning,
Unconditional love.
And right now that love is enveloping you.
Feel the love that this blanket carries now seeping into every cell,
Every muscle,
Every organ and every thought within your body.
No matter how you're feeling or what you're thinking,
No matter what emotions you're feeling or what stories you're carrying today,
Your blanket embraces you.
Like sunlight,
The warmth penetrates every single part of you.
Some areas of your body might naturally receive this love,
While others may be a little bit more resistant.
And if this is the case,
Simply focus on the places where the love enters naturally and then see if it might gently and slowly expand into other regions.
See if you can take in what it feels like to be embraced by this,
To bathe in love and kindness,
To bathe in tenderness unconditionally.
And if you find that your mind drifts into thoughts,
Simply come back to your sense of your blanket.
When you feel ready to close this practice,
Just take a moment to tune into your heart.
Perhaps you may wish to place the palms of your hand across your heart.
And now take a moment to offer yourself gratitude.
Gratitude for you allowing yourself the time,
For allowing yourself to tap the time to just visualize your beautiful blanket of love.
Gently let your sense of the blanket dissolve if it hasn't already.
And know that it's available to you at any time.
It's portable and all you need to do is just think of it and call it forward.
Come back to your breath now,
And then back to the sense of the seat beneath you.
And very slowly and gently when you're ready,
Allow your eyes to open.

And know that you can use this visualization at any time that you may need comfort or to give yourself just some time.
