
Stop Cravings Before Bed

Transcript
Before you let yourself relax deeply,
Make sure you're in a comfortable place.
A place where you can be quiet and still for the next while.
Once you're there,
Go ahead and fix your eyes on a point on the wall or the ceiling and begin to relax the body.
Without closing the eyes,
Allow the muscles around the eyes to become deeply,
Profoundly,
Even completely relaxed.
Go ahead and relax the muscles of the jaw,
Allowing the jaw to become deeply relaxed.
Now let the shoulders drop.
Send a wave of deep relaxation down the right arm,
Feeling the relaxation through every muscle,
Every nerve,
Every tendon,
Every cell all the way down to the very tips of the fingers.
Once you've invited a deep sense of relaxation in the right arm,
Allow the muscles in the left arm to likewise relax deeply,
Profoundly,
Completely all the way down.
Down,
Down,
Down the arm,
Down to the tips of the fingers.
Now relax the muscles of the chest and invite the muscles of the stomach to unwind,
Release,
And relax.
Invite a deep sense of stillness into the muscles of the hips.
Focus in on the right leg as you allow a deep and wonderful sense of relaxation to work its way all the way down the leg.
Down,
Down,
Down to the tips of the toes.
Now relax the left leg,
Sending a wonderful wave of relaxation all the way down the leg,
Down to the tips of the toes,
Allowing the left leg to become loose and limp and relaxed.
Now bring your awareness and attention to your breath.
With every inhale,
Breathe in relaxation.
With every exhale,
Breathe out any tension that may be there.
Breathing in.
Breathing out.
Unwinding.
Relaxing.
Releasing.
And letting go.
Now think about the number one.
Visualize or imagine or just pretend that you can think about the number one.
And now allow that number to relax right out of your mind.
Fading,
Drifting,
And disappearing.
Until the image,
The thought is simply gone.
Now imagine or think about the number two.
Now allow the number two to drift and dream and relax right out of your mind.
Until the number is gone.
All gone.
Now imagine the number three.
And let the number three relax right out of your mind.
Letting go.
Drifting.
Dreaming.
And relaxing.
Now imagine a beautiful place.
A safe place where you can deeply and profoundly relax.
See this place in the mind's eye.
And begin the process of relaxing the mind.
Deeply as you fully allow yourself to enjoy the beauty and the sounds of that deeply relaxing place.
Allow yourself to become fully absorbed in that healing place.
And then in that place,
Imagine closing the inner eye of the mind as you drift down deeper into a wonderful,
Restful relaxation.
Closing the eyes down until the body and mind become deeply,
Profoundly and completely relaxed.
Every nerve,
Every cell.
Relaxing.
Releasing.
Unwinding.
Letting go.
Now,
As you scan your body,
Look for any emotions,
Thoughts,
Tensions,
Or tightness that may be related to your cravings.
Choose one item in particular that you crave,
Or one class of things that you crave.
As you think about that,
Scan the body and mind for thoughts,
Emotions,
And tensions in the body.
And then in front of you,
Imagine a box.
A box of healing where you can place all of these thoughts,
All of these emotions,
All of these tensions.
Almost as if the box has a magnetic pull that's drawing out the thoughts and feelings and tensions.
Perhaps you can even feel or see or hear the thoughts leave the body and enter into that box.
Maybe you can feel or see or hear the emotions leaving the body and entering into that box.
The box of healing.
And finally,
Any tensions or tightnesses or awarenesses that are related to these cravings,
Just allow them to leave the body and enter into the box of healing.
The magnetic pull of the box drawing out all of the thoughts,
All of the emotions,
All of the feelings,
All of the tensions or tightnesses,
And you can visualize or imagine all of these shapes and colors now inside the box of healing.
Go ahead and close the lid on that box.
And imagine a healing light.
Notice the color of the light flowing down until it gently rests upon the box of healing.
Little by little,
Bit by bit,
The box becomes filled with light.
And the light pushes the old thoughts and the old feelings out of the box,
And they dissipate safely up into the atmospheres.
They float up,
Up,
Up,
Safely into the light.
Meanwhile,
The light is swirling and churning inside of the box in a way that brings healing into the thoughts and emotions and tensions that are there inside.
And finally,
Imagine the light transforming what's inside,
Healing what was there,
Allowing it to become totally and completely and thoroughly transformed.
Now,
Allow yourself to relax a little bit deeper as you imagine the light resting gently down upon you.
The light rests upon the top of the head,
As if the top of the head has a window to the inner mind,
And the light begins to fill your mind.
Driving out any remaining thoughts,
Releasing any old remaining tensions,
And filling you with a new sense of calm and peace and quiet.
The light begins to move down your body,
Until the whole head is filled.
The neck,
The spine,
The chest,
The arms,
The belly completely filled with light and love and healing.
The hips,
The right leg all the way down to the toes,
The left leg all the way down to the tips of the toes,
The entire body fully and completely and totally filled with light and love and healing.
Now imagine the body relaxing more deeply,
As the light becomes more and more profound within you.
Your whole body totally and completely filled inside with light.
Meanwhile,
The healing box has totally transformed the thoughts inside.
It has totally transformed the feelings.
It has totally transformed the tensions and tightness,
And it has replaced them with a healing gift.
A gift that will help you release old behaviors,
Move on and gather healing inside.
Open the box,
And notice the gift that's there inside.
And if you so choose,
Take the gift out of the box.
And if it seems appropriate,
You can allow yourself to keep that gift.
It may even have an energy that allows you to bring healing and rest into the body and into the mind.
Now allow that scene to simply dissolve and clear the internal imagery of your mind,
Blanking out the mind with white or black or blue.
And imagine walking down a safe and beautiful hallway that leads to a door,
A familiar door that only you can open.
Open that door and step into the control room of your subconscious mind,
A room filled with tiles and knobs and levers,
Computers,
Controls,
And other equipment to help you control and change the functions of the deep subconscious mind.
Imagine a control or a dial that controls any stress or anxiety that you may be experiencing.
Turn that dial down,
Down,
Way down,
Dialing down the stress and the anxiety.
You may begin to feel a level of relief and calm and quiet entering the body,
Entering the mind.
Now find the control that allows you to increase your relaxation.
Grab a hold of that control and begin to increase the level of bodily and mental relaxation,
Allowing the relaxation to increase and to flow through you like a wave,
Perhaps feeling a sensation of release,
Of opening or simply letting go as you increase that setting to a wonderful,
Amazing level.
Now find the control that allows you to decrease or perhaps even completely eliminate the craving,
That old craving that you used to have.
And when you're ready,
Begin to reduce the setting of that craving,
Allowing it to go down,
Down,
Down,
Perhaps even being able to completely shut it off,
Almost as if you were removing the power completely from that old setting.
You may even watch a light there on the control panel dimming and darkening.
As that old thought,
As that old feeling loses its strength and becomes weak and weaker,
Like a sound that has simply faded away,
Going,
Going,
Gone.
Now allow yourself to make any additional changes that you would like to make there in the control room of your subconscious mind,
Changing any programs,
Systems,
Dials,
Knobs,
Levers or controls that allow you to achieve the results that you need to move forward,
To change.
And when you've made those changes,
Save all the settings,
Leave the control room,
And allow that scene simply to dissolve and fade away.
Imagine a beautiful place where the mind and body can rest.
You are now completely free of those old thoughts.
You are completely free of those old feelings.
You are completely free of those old tensions and tightnesses.
It is like someone has come along and undone the handcuffs that held you bound.
Your wrists are now free.
The prison door is open.
And you decide to walk out of that old prison because you have gained your freedom.
You are free.
And any time that you see anything that would have reminded you of your craving in the past,
It simply fades into the background of your awareness,
Almost like it's slipping out of your mind.
Any colors that would have reminded you of that old craving seem duller,
Seem less important,
Seem farther away.
Any sounds that used to be there to remind you of that old craving have simply faded away.
They simply seem less important.
Unimportant sounds that have lost their relevance.
If there were any smells in the past,
These smells seem blander,
Less interesting,
Or even unimportant.
You have gained a strength inside that's allowing you to move forward,
To take a new direction,
To be completely free.
You are free.
If by chance you happen to bump into something that you used to crave,
You'll find that it seems dull,
Unattractive,
And uninteresting.
That you feel completely and totally detached.
Any time you happen upon that thing that used to trigger you,
You find that within you,
You now have a greater strength,
A greater power,
A greater sense of who you are.
That allows you to move forward boldly in a new direction.
Any of the old colors,
Any of the old flavors,
Any of the old thoughts or feelings have simply faded away and are now completely unimportant.
Becoming a permanent part of your past.
But completely absent as your future is now filled with brightness and hope and new life.
Now clear your imagination as you allow your mind to dissolve any images that are there.
Visualize or imagine now your most powerful self.
This is the you that is filled with strength and confidence and power.
This is the you that is boldly moving forward in a new direction.
This is the you who has broken the chains of the past.
This is the you that seems to stand taller.
That seems to be more confident.
That seems to be more powerful because it is true.
You have changed and there is a power and a light inside of you that brings new life.
Imagine a glow of power.
Almost as if a note has been played in the heavens.
Declaring boldly,
Here you are.
And when you're ready,
Step into that image.
Become one with this new and powerful self.
Feel how that feels as you gather that power inside of you.
Feel how it feels to be strong and powerful and confident.
See through the eyes of confidence and notice how the world has a new bright and brilliant hue.
And hear.
Hear your own powerful self-talk in your mind that boldly declares,
I am powerful.
I am capable.
And I am confident.
And now bring your new powerful self into the days and weeks to come.
Notice how it feels to be at home,
Powerful,
Confident,
And strong.
Notice how it feels to move into your social circles,
Powerful,
Confident,
And strong.
You have left behind those old things.
You have been made new.
Imagine how it feels to move into your other circles and spheres of responsibility,
Whether it's family or work or school.
And bring with you this new confident self.
And imagine now how things are different because of the powerful changes that you have made.
Now as you dream tonight,
Your subconscious mind is going to bring your powerful self with you into your future.
Filling your future completely full with the bright light of hope and with this new sense of powerful self-confidence that allows you to break every chain to move forward boldly,
Nobly,
And confident.
Now as I count down from 10 to 1,
Allow yourself to drift into a wonderful,
Deep,
Relaxing sleep.
