This meditation is something I created for myself because it was something that I needed.
It's a spend on your gratitude exercise and I found it helpful because I was struggling to see the magic and abundance in life that already existed around me.
I was losing moments of my life day after day because I was focused on where I wanted to be and numb to the present.
I wanted to get to that next phase in life because I believed that once I got there and only once I got there I could finally begin to live.
This belief prevented me from seeing that I didn't have to wait until I got to that next phase of life to experience freedom,
Happiness,
And fulfillment.
Everything that I wanted for my life.
This exercise also helped to remind me that we are not entitled to anything and helped me to appreciate moments in my day-to-day.
Experiences that I was not owed but were gifts that I got to unwrap throughout the day.
So go ahead and close your eyes,
Get in a comfortable position,
And bring your awareness to the air coming in and out of your nose.
Now take the breath a little deeper and breathe from your heart and back into your heart.
Take the breath deeper and breathe from your belly and back into your belly.
Take the breath deeper and breathe from your toes and back into your toes.
Now allow your breath to come back to a normal breathing pattern in and out of your nose.
Some gifts I received today were the gift of time,
Text messages from friends checking in,
The ability to feel the warm sun on my face,
And meeting some new friends in the neighborhood.
These gifts brought the experience of freedom,
Creativity,
Rest,
Connection,
Love,
Fulfillment,
And being.
I'm going to be quiet now as you take a few moments to reflect on the gifts you received today and the experiences these gifts provided you with.
Take your time and slowly unwrap each gift one by one.
Take a moment here to reflect on how many of these experiences you believed only existed in the future or in that next step you are working towards.
I hope this meditation allows you to tap into a level of excitement around the possibilities as you began each day and into awe and appreciation around the gifts you receive every day.
I hope this meditation helps you give yourself permission to live life now.
Love,
Faith.
