This is a short 6-minute meditation to ground, pause and slow things down. We begin by relaxing the body into the support of the earth. We then shift attention to the subtle sensations of breathing, eventually slowing the breath down to encourage a slower pace of mind. This meditation provides plenty of guidance, making it great for beginners and those who experience a particularly hyperactive mind.

Transcript

Take a deep breath in,

Long breath out the mouth.

Feel the weight of your body settle into the earth.

Points of your body magnetising to the surface below you.

If you're seated let your shoulders completely relax.

If you're laying down let the bones of your feet and the bones of your fingers soften.

As you settle your body here into stillness,

Notice your ability to sensitise to the slightest of details in your body.

The soft beat of your heart.

The gentle expansion and contraction of your breath.

Notice that the softer you are in your body the easier it is to feel the details of this moment.

Notice the effortlessness of stillness.

The mind continues to settle down into the changing details of your body.

You might find it useful to actively deepen and slow your breathing.

Just notice that as you do that the breath almost feels like slow motion in your body.

Let your mind match that slow motion pace.

What else is there to notice in this moment?

Expand your attention beyond your body.

Notice the subtle movements of your external environment.

Be it sound,

Texture of air,

Temperature.

This delicate weave of presence.

Shifting and changing in slow motion.

Finish with a deep breath in.

Long slow breath out the mouth.

That was very nice. I appreciated that it was just your voice and no background music. That really helps to get my grounded. I hope you do create a longer version.
