The purpose of this relaxation meditation is to give you the time and space within your day to allow you a deep rest period.
To begin,
Lie down flat on your back with your hands by your sides and your palms facing up.
You may want a small pillow for under your knees to take the pressure off the low back.
You may also want a light blanket to keep you warm.
Softly close the eyes and begin to relax into your breath.
Allow the belly to naturally rise and fall with every inhale and exhale.
Give yourself permission to let go.
You've done all you could and should.
Now prepare to heal,
Rejuvenate,
Rest,
And relax.
Instruct each part of your body to lovingly relax and release tension as you mentally say,
Relax,
Release.
Give your body permission to relax and release now.
Starting at the feet,
Feet relax.
Ankles relax.
Calves relax.
Knees relax.
Thighs relax.
Back of legs relax.
Hips and buttocks relax.
Pelvis relax.
Fingers and hands relax.
Wrists relax.
Forearms relax.
Elbows relax.
Forearms relax.
Shoulders relax.
Shoulders and neck begin to relax and release.
Neck relax.
Elbows down the spine and back relax.
All the muscles of the back relax.
Navel point relax and release.
Chest and ribs relax.
Relax the face.
Relax the tongue.
Relax the lips.
Relax the eyelids.
Relax the head and rest now.
With every breath falling deeper and deeper into relaxation.
Allow the healing gaze of your inner eye and heart to bless each organ and gland.
Giving permission to yourself for an even deeper level of relaxation,
Healing,
And rejuvenation and for every cell to open freely to the flow of life.
Lungs relax.
Heart relax.
Thymus and entire immune system relax and recalibrate.
Stomach,
Intestines relax.
Pancreas relax.
Both kidneys relax.
Adrenals,
Reserve of inner fire,
Relax.
Spleen relax.
Liver,
The great cleanser,
Purifier,
Storehouse relax.
Rejuvenate,
Heal.
Sex organs relax.
Thyroid and parathyroid relax.
Upper glands of the brain,
Pituitary,
Pineal relax.
The brain itself relax.
All thoughts relax.
Good thoughts flow freely and harmoniously.
With the body relaxed and resting,
Allow your awareness to float gently above the physical body.
Become light and weightless as you look down upon your physical self and see it safe,
Healing,
And deeply relaxed.
Allow yourself to gently drift into any space that feels good to you now.
Let it rest a few minutes or so.
As you gently make your way back into your full body,
Take a deep breath and take a deep breath.
Inhale deeply and stretch the arms up overhead.
Exhale,
Rotate the wrists and ankles.
Rub the palms and soles of the feet together vigorously to distribute energy evenly throughout the body.
Bring your knees to chest and begin to rock side to side and then forward and back to come up to a sitting position.
Starting up,
Stretch the arms up overhead and begin to shake the hands and arms.
Now bring the hands into prayer pose.
Bow your head and give deep thanks to yourself for taking this time out for rest and rejuvenation.
When you're ready,
Go about your day relaxed and replenished.
