This is Bethany Moore with Alchemy Studio.
My passion is helping clients self-heal through a variety of skills and tools gained through guided facilitation,
Somatic awareness,
Parts work,
And expressive arts-based practices.
The following guided visualization is called Grounding with Roots.
So let's begin.
I want you to sit with your feet flat on the floor,
On the ground,
Wherever you find yourself.
Plant your feet flat and notice them.
Notice the contact they make.
Notice any sensation you feel.
Do you sense a temperature?
Can you feel the ground or the floor beneath you?
Wiggle your toes,
Tap your feet,
Do whatever you need to do to feel the contact they make with the surface that they're on.
Now scan up to notice your whole body sitting or standing,
Your whole body connected to your feet.
Then hone in on the center of yourself,
Of your body.
This part of you that you feel is your center,
A place of connection,
Foundation.
Anything that to you feels like your core.
From this place I want you to imagine roots beginning to grow and roots know exactly where they need to go to find the ground,
To seek nourishment,
To support you with stability and security.
I want you to stay curious and witness these roots and to ask these roots,
Show me,
Show me what I need right now in this very moment to feel grounded,
Secure,
Supported,
Balanced.
Roots have an intelligence that know how to move and flex and wiggle around rocks and barriers and borders.
As your roots grow down into the earth,
They go as deep and as wide as you need in this very moment.
When you feel your root system has established itself,
I want you to move your feet,
Move your legs,
Move your body.
Notice that roots move with you.
Our roots go with us.
They can move and flex with you as you need throughout your day and as you move through your day periodically,
Check in with your roots.
Make sure they are with you and that when you need a sense of landing,
Of security,
Connection,
That you can rely on the earth for that.
Now come back to open eyes,
Orient yourself to your space,
Look around,
Take it in.
Then try and connect back to those roots with open eyes,
Just a sense of them being there,
Access to them.
Check in with that center point of yourself and the roots that go with it,
That go down into the earth and take moments throughout your day to touch in and remember this.
