This is Bethany Moore with Alchemy Studio.
My passion is helping clients self-heal through a variety of skills and tools gained through guided facilitation,
Somatic awareness,
Parts work,
And expressive arts-based practices.
The following guided visualization is called Container.
So let's begin.
This practice is simply called Container.
I teach this to all my clients whether or not they are working on trauma recovery but always part of nervous system regulation work.
This is an intentional conscious process that alleviates the body of all the holding that happens,
All the pushing down we do of the things that are uncomfortable,
The things we cannot tolerate in our body.
It gives us a safe secure space to put these things to give distance to alleviate our system.
So what I'd like you to do now is visualize a container.
This container is outside of your body in the space around you or perhaps you see it in a special location.
This container needs to open and close and has the job of holding safely and securely all the stressors,
The worries,
The anxieties of life.
This container can hold whatever you put in it.
I always say never put yourself or anyone else in it or any part body parts of you in it.
This is for unloading,
Unloading the too much.
It's a secure safe place.
So look at your container.
Look at all the details.
Notice how it opens and closes and stays shut.
Allow your imagination to create the perfect space,
The perfect vessel for whatever you need it to hold.
Get familiar with it.
You're going to be using it actively.
Notice all the details and practice opening it,
Closing it.
Maybe there's a lock or latch.
As long as it feels very secure and a space that you can put things in.
So now scan your body for stressors,
Anxieties,
Worries,
Whatever it is that is too much.
The feelings and sensations that you want to unload,
Put down,
Put aside for now.
And I'd like you to imagine that you can gently and with loving care put those into this container.
Try that now.
Stay curious and watch this process of unburdening yourself.
If you find a challenge with this process,
Perhaps your container won't stay shut or what you put in it jumps back out,
Then simply ask your inner self,
Show me a solution to this.
I don't know what to do here.
I need help.
Show me.
This allows yourself,
Your creative knowing self,
To show you the solution.
Once this process feels complete,
Make sure the container is closed.
Notice the location of the container.
Do you see an environment that it lives in or sense it somewhere around you?
My encouragement is that you will use this container throughout your day to unload from your body whatever feels like too much.
And over time,
The more you use this tool,
The more your system will get to know the ease of unloading and unburdening the body.
