Welcome to Still Water.
If it feels comfortable to do so,
Sit or lie down comfortably.
Take a deep breath in through your nose.
Hold for two seconds and then fully exhale slowly through your mouth.
Let your body feel supported by the surface beneath you.
And silently say to yourself,
I am here.
I am safe.
And I am present.
Bring the awareness to your body.
Noticing your feet,
Feel them connected to the ground.
Slowly begin to scan upward.
Through your legs,
Your arms,
Your hips,
Your spine,
Shoulders,
Hands,
Neck,
And your head.
Noticing any tension,
Breathing to it.
Imagine it softening with each exhale.
With each exhale,
Silently say,
I release what no longer serves me.
Place one hand on your chest and one on your belly.
Inhale,
Noticing that your belly expands.
With each exhale,
Notice it soften.
Breathe in again through your nose.
Hold for two seconds.
And release through your mouth.
Your thoughts can gently guide your attention back to your breath.
Breathing in calm and exhaling tension.
Now bring awareness to any heavy feelings or anxiety that you may have.
Name them silent.
I notice fear,
Sadness,
Overwhelm.
Imagine placing each emotion in a small cloud and watching it float away.
Don't judge the feelings.
Just let them exist.
And then release.
It is okay to feel.
Silently say to yourself,
I honor my emotions and just let them flow.
Imagine a safe,
Quiet place.
A beach,
A forest,
A cozy room.
Feel the safe and the calm there.
Visualize a gentle light or warmth stream.
Spreading through your body.
Dissolving all your tension and worry.
Breathe with the sensations of the light growing in your chest.
Silently repeat,
I am bathed in calm and clarity.
I am supported.
Take another slow breath in through your nose.
Hold for two seconds.
Slowly exhale through your mouth,
Releasing all the tension.
Now slowly bring your attention back to your body.
Wiggle your fingers.
Wiggle your toes.
Take three deep conscious breaths.
Affirm silently or out loud.
And release what I cannot control.
I am present.
I am grounded.
When you are ready,
And it's comfortable to do so,
Open your arms and carry this comb with you into your next moment.
This is still water.
