Poem: Walking In The Shadow Of Your Own Soul
This is what I like to call sacred poetry. A poem of shadow work and a hungry soul ready to heal to love and be loved again. This track is meant for pondering within the soul. To receive a sort of soul waking. This Journey of life and the journey to heal is a dance of the soul.

I'm going to read a poem that I wrote.
The title of this poem is Walking Within the Shadow of Your Own Soul.
This poem,
To me,
Is the journey of our lives,
Is the journey of authenticity.
I feel that we go through this journey of life expecting to finally come to a point where we no longer feel,
Where we no longer go through any type of emotional upheavals.
Unfortunately,
There is always going to be a battle and rather than us battling those around us,
Recognizing the battle that we are actually going through within our own souls.
This poem is meant to bring about deep thoughts within yourself,
Within the life that we are living,
Helping to better prioritize the emotional,
Mental,
And even spiritual health.
This is just a way that I like to express myself and the way that I see the inside of our minds and the conflict within it.
Although we have a mind-body-spirit in this three-dimensional being-self that we are,
I feel that we have these battles as if,
And better to imagine between two,
Between the two of us,
Between the two beings that exist within us,
Between the heavens and the hells,
Between the darkness of our own shadows,
Between the elements of pain that we've gone through in this life,
The elements of abandonment,
Neglect,
Abuse,
Sickness,
Loneliness.
I am here.
I am here within the soul.
You walk as if the darkness does not follow you so.
You wake with no fear of fear itself.
You grow despite the darkness in your soul.
Within itself,
The darkness creeps.
It comes in the night.
The darkness doesn't sleep.
Forever,
We'll fight.
It takes all those and swallows them up,
Everyone in sight.
The darkness doesn't stop,
Never stops.
Until you are dead.
Dead in you.
Dead in your head.
I love you.
The darkness weeps.
I love you.
The darkness here lies.
I love you.
Once more,
Forever it tries.
It wins,
Takes you,
The whole of it.
It wins,
Sweeps you,
The soul of it.
Ever so slightly,
The darkness,
It creeps.
Ever so slightly,
The darkness wins,
It sweeps.
I am here.
I come with a vengeance.
I am here.
I come for the children.
I am here.
You are better off dead.
I am here,
Off with your head.
Your soul is mine,
In between the eyes.
There I take you.
I scare you,
Where no one else hears you.
The darkness is me,
Staring me right in the eyes.
The darkness is me,
Blinding,
Binding,
You from the insides.
The darkness is me,
The sickness in your gut.
The darkness is me,
Swallowing myself up.
I must face this darkness,
You see.
This darkness will never stop following me.
For it is my shadow,
How I fear its soul.
The shadow,
The shadow of my own soul.
The darkness escapes the light.
The darkness left for the night.
Come.
Come find me here.
Come.
Come.
Shadows,
Bounding fear.
Your footsteps,
They wake me.
Your soul chilling.
Your body cold.
Breath takes me.
Hush.
No sound.
The breath's gentle rhythm.
Hush.
No sound.
Your heart breaks me.
So I break.
In two,
In four,
In seven.
So I break.
Falling straight into heaven.
I am alone.
Alone in the night.
I am alone.
Alone in the night.
I am alone.
Alone in plain sight.
Here I lay.
Take me.
The whole of it.
Here I lay.
Take me.
The soul of it.
The soul of who wakes me in the night.
The soul who has taken and put up such a fight.
I am done.
Do you hear me?
I'm screaming.
I am done.
Echoing from the walls,
The ceiling.
I am done.
Let me go.
Leave me alone.
Alone with my soul.
The whole of it.
You see,
The darkness is a friend.
A friend you must greet.
The darkness will help you rise back to your feet.
It loves you.
It keeps your secrets well.
It loves you.
It will never do this well.
For it is your job and your job alone.
Your responsibility to give your heart a home.
A boundary with a key.
A home.
A very special place to be.
A home.
A place to protect.
A life.
The greatest one yet.
You see,
Without these dark spaces,
We never see the light leading us to staircases.
Staircases out of sight.
Staircases out of angels.
Of heavens without end.
Staircases and freedoms to battles we wish would end.
I free myself.
I am my own best friend.
I free myself.
I am a beginning with no end.
Live is to love.
Is to lose greatly.
Live is to love painstakingly.
It will be okay.
But only you can do that for yourself.
It will be okay.
Protect you from yourself.
It will be okay.
Cry safe in your arms.
I can take all of it.
Cry here until you have had enough of it.
Cry here until you grow above it.
Cry and wait.
Cry and grow.
Cry and soon you will heal your own soul.
It sweeps with a gentle breeze.
It sweeps within the soul.
Together him and her make my soul.
I am not a mess.
Not a shattered piece together.
I am a soul.
A soul that actually matters.
Please be gentle when you speak.
Please be gentle with me while I weep.
Please sit here while I gather.
Please sit here because I matter.
The darkness is me and the angel that will soon sweep me off my feet.
I learn to greet you with grace.
To be gentle as I speak and misspeak.
To be gentle with my own soul.
I learn to not allow the shadows to hide my face.
I learn to speak and walk with grace.
Grace for the gift of this life as I speak.
Grace for the worlds beyond and out of reach.
I learn from the shadows fear me.
I learn I am the light the darkness can't see.
I come.
It escapes.
No presence.
No remnants.
No trace.
Be gone.
The power of the soul beats.
Be gone.
Demons possessing the streets.
Be gone.
The heart beats.
Be gone.
Our eyes meet.
Be gone.
But then I'm alone.
Be gone.
Better you than me.
You have no home.
Be gone.
The darkness fills.
Be gone.
Hold it still.
Be gone.
Together intertwine.
Be gone forever till the end of time.
Forever is the dance of the pain in our souls.
Forever is the dance of the shadows we must get to know.
Forever is forever with it until we see life ever after.
Learn to hold its hand.
Walk with it gently.
Walk with laughter.
Learn to love it.
And sit while it cries.
Learn to love it deep on the inside.
Here it sleeps.
Here it can rest.
Here it can be fed.
Here in the soul safe from harm.
Here in a soul without any arms.
No legs to travel.
No body to harm.
Here in my soul forever we be.
Here in my soul it sleeps gently.
It keeps.
For me this poem has a couple of different elements to it.
The grief of our shadows that we we try to run from and try to hide,
Try to mask.
A lot of times we don't even know or face our shadows until we're deep within healing and we're trying to constantly overcome these patterns of behavior that are ingrained within our minds and our bodies.
And we are trying to break free of those.
We have affirmations.
We have these meditations.
We have new healthy practices that we try to implement.
And these are our tools that we can carry with us like a tool bag to be able to have access to as we journey through this life.
As we fail and misstep and misspeak to come back and respond in more loving peaceful ways and use the tools that have helped us get us through every single time.
Life is cyclical and it's often what I feel is considered as karma.
Things that continue to repeat itself.
I think of the pain that this world has faced,
The cruelty that is within it,
The desires that many of us wish to heal the world,
To bring about a greater peace and a love,
To remove darkness altogether and how debilitating,
Overwhelming that is at times.
To have darkness yet again staring you right in the face.
To have pains within our soul,
To have let go and to freely love and then to lose that love.
I find it important to have boundaries for our hearts,
Give our hearts a home,
To protect them and to learn and relearn how and when to love and love again.
The heart is meant to love,
We are meant to be open,
We are meant to heal,
We have the capability to do so.
Calming our minds,
Calming our brains,
Calming our limbic systems is a huge part in that healing and will open us up to greater blessings.
I hope that you enjoyed this poem.
I hope that for some of you it resonates or sparks and inspires to live and to love again and I thank you for your time.
Have a wonderful,
Beautiful rest of your evening,
Week,
Month or year.
