Good morning,
Good morning,
Good morning.
And thank you for being here.
The way we start the day sets the tone for the rest of the day.
When we start the day with gratitude,
With positivity and with intention,
The day comes alive.
We feel good,
So strong,
So ready.
And everything just begins to flow,
With intuition,
With ease.
It almost feels like magic.
Today we're going to take our time,
And it's time just for you,
To feel truly grateful,
And very clear about how you want to show up today.
Let's start with some gratitude,
Some thoughts and words of gratitude.
Repeat these words after me in your mind or out loud,
And put your attention on how they make you feel.
Thank you for this day.
Thank you for this day.
I'm grateful for this day and everything that's coming my way.
I'm grateful for my peace.
I'm grateful for my happiness.
I'm grateful for my health.
I'm grateful for my abundance and my wealth.
I'm really grateful for those around me.
I'm grateful for my friends.
I'm grateful for my family.
I'm grateful for everyone I meet.
Thank you for this feeling of peace that grows inside me.
Thank you for this feeling of kindness that I can share with anyone I choose.
Thank you for my happiness.
Thank you for my joy.
I'm grateful to be alive.
I'm grateful for this new day.
This day of opportunity.
Now let's take a moment to slow down and let that sink in a little more.
Take a gentle breath in through your nose if you can and out through your mouth.
If any of those words stood out to you,
Just dwell on those words for a moment.
Now we'll let that gratitude become even more real and more specific.
You don't have to force anything or make anything perfect,
Just begin to notice what's already here.
So first,
Be grateful for something simple.
It might be your bed,
Your chair,
Your pillow,
The temperature of the room.
Say thank you for one small simple thing that is here with you this morning.
Now bring your attention to your breath.
Feel your chest or your belly moving gently as you breathe.
And for a moment,
Be grateful for your breath.
Your breath that's always here,
All through your life.
Maybe you'll say quietly inside,
Thank you for my breath.
Thank you for my breath and the life that moves in me.
And now think of one person in your life.
Someone who makes your life even a little bit better.
A friend,
A partner,
A child,
A colleague,
Even a stranger who was kind to you recently.
You don't need to picture them clearly,
Just lightly bring them to mind and say thank you.
Thank you for you.
Maybe place a hand gently on your chest above your heart and just rest it there for a moment.
Breathing.
So grateful.
And now it's time to be grateful for something about yourself.
This can feel uncomfortable for some of us,
But all we need to do is try.
Maybe you're grateful for your strength and your persistence.
Maybe you're grateful for your kindness.
Maybe you're grateful for your selflessness,
Your sense of humor,
Your courage or the way that you keep going even when things are challenging.
Name one thing about yourself that you're grateful for and say quietly,
Thank you for this part of me.
Let that sink in.
Like a quiet nod to yourself at the start of this day.
Now that we've started with gratitude,
Let's move on to the body to help us really arrive into this day.
You don't need to change anything about how you're sitting or lying down,
Just make sure you're comfortable.
We're going to slowly scan the body from the feet to the top of your head.
Begin by just noticing your feet.
Tune into your feet.
Can you feel them?
You can always wiggle your toes a little bit to help you tune in.
Notice where your feet are resting.
Feel the weight of your feet,
The contact,
The support beneath them.
And if you can't feel anything at all as we do this,
That's okay.
Just the action of trying to put your attention on certain parts of the body is perfect.
And so from the feet,
Move your attention up through your legs,
Your calves,
Your knees,
Your thighs.
Notice anything that you can feel.
Any warmth,
Any heaviness,
Any lightness.
Or just notice that you feel nothing.
And know that that's okay.
There's nothing to fix here,
We're just focusing the mind and quietly arriving in the body.
Now feel the weight of your hips,
Your body being held by the surface beneath you.
Let yourself be supported.
And notice your belly.
Maybe you feel it moving gently with the breath.
Notice any sensations you feel right there.
And just let it all be exactly as it is.
Pass your attention up into your chest.
And to your heart.
Maybe you still feel a little echo of the gratitude that we started with.
Or maybe not,
And that's okay.
Everything is perfect.
Now notice your shoulders,
Your arms,
Your hands.
Feel where they rest.
If you like,
You can let your shoulders drop a little bit.
If you like,
You can let your shoulders drop a little bit.
Nice and relaxed.
Then notice your neck and your jaw.
See if you can soften your jaw.
Maybe wiggle it around a little bit.
Allow the muscles around your jaw to relax.
And then passing your attention up into the rest of your head.
Relax any tension that you feel.
Just a gentle letting go.
Your whole body is here.
Awake enough to notice.
Relaxed enough to rest.
Now we'll use the breath to bring a calm,
Steady energy into this day.
Breathe in deeply,
Comfortably filling your lungs.
And then let it all go with a long,
Slow exhale.
Again,
Breathe in deep.
And breathe out long and slow.
And now breathe in celebration.
And breathe out confidence.
And now breathe in love.
And breathe out joy.
That feels nice.
Let's do that once more.
Breathe in celebration.
Breathe out confidence.
Breathe in love.
And breathe out joy.
Take one more deep breath in.
Fill your lungs and hold the breath for a moment.
And then let it all go.
And relax your body.
Now let your breathing find its natural rhythm again,
Nice and easy,
In its own time.
Letting these quieter,
Natural breaths soothe you and soften you.
And then,
Ready for this new day.
Letting go.
Now raise your eyes up gently towards your forehead.
Without any tension.
Just raise your eyes up gently,
Nice and relaxed,
And put your attention on your forehead.
And then breathe gently into your forehead.
Breathe slowly.
A breath of peace.
A breath of kindness.
A breath of love.
This is entirely optional,
But it can be nice to imagine a soft,
Gentle light glowing there around your forehead.
And with each breath in,
It glows a little brighter.
And with every breath out,
It radiates light gently through your mind and your body.
Breathing in,
That soft light at the forehead glows a little brighter.
Breathing out,
That calm clarity radiating through your mind and your body.
If thoughts come along and pull you away,
That's fine.
It's just your brain braining.
And when you notice your mind has wandered,
Simply welcome it back to your breath.
To your forehead.
And now let's set some positive intentions for the day ahead.
How do you want to be today?
Maybe you'll choose one of these five things.
Calm.
Clear.
Kind.
Confident.
Present.
Which feels most important for you right now?
Calm.
Clear.
Kind.
Confident.
Present.
Roll it around in your mind.
And now let's add some simple phrases.
Feel free to repeat the ones that feel right to you.
Today is going to be a good day.
Today is going to be a good day.
Today is going to be a focused day.
Today is going to be a peaceful day.
Today is going to be a positive day.
I will be present.
I will be strong.
I will be kind.
I seize today and I make it mine.
I will fill today with light.
I will fill today with love.
I will bring peace to everyone.
To every step.
To every breath.
To every moment.
And that peace ripples to all those around me.
Today I bring love to everything and everyone that I meet.
Now let's sit quietly for a while,
Breathing calmly.
Body relaxed.
Confident.
As we near the end of this meditation,
I encourage you to take this feeling with you into your day.
Now begin to bring some gentle movement back into your fingers and toes.
Maybe roll your shoulders.
Move slowly.
And when you're ready,
Allow your eyes to open.
Thank you for this day.
Thank you for this day.
This morning magic is yours.
Yours to enjoy.
Yours to share.
And it can be yours every day.
Why not join me every day for the next 10 days and let this feeling build inside you.
Let me know in the comments if you're going to give that a try.
And I'm sending you peace.
I'm sending you love.
And I'm sending you happiness for the rest of your day.
