Now to the knees.
Allow them to soften completely at ease.
Guide your awareness to the thighs,
Undersides touching the chair or floor.
Feel their weight trusting the surface to hold you.
Sense your hips and pelvis,
Letting them settle,
Broad and steady.
Now bring gentle attention to your abdomen.
Notice the natural rise and fall of the breath.
Soften through the lower back.
Now upward to the chest and the ribs.
With each inhale space opens,
With each exhale warmth spreads.
Now notice your shoulders.
Let them drop away from the ears,
Heavy and free.
Feel the length of your arms,
Elbows,
Wrists and palms resting and open.
Now travel to the neck and the throat,
Taking notice of any tension held there,
Releasing any remaining tension.
Bring awareness to the face,
Jaw unclenched,
Cheeks soft,
Eyelids heavy,
Muscles around the eyes relaxed.
Forehead,
Crown of head all relaxed.
Sense the quiet there as though a gentle breeze is passing over.
Now imagine a warm ivory light,
Soft like the first morning sun glowing at your crown.
With each breath it flows downward through your scalp and your forehead,
Over the muscles around the eyes,
Along the cheeks and the jaw.
The light glides through the neck,
Shoulders,
Chest,
Heart,
Down the spine,
Through the hips,
Thighs,
Knees,
Calves,
Ankles and all the way to the soles of your feet.
