As you take a deep breath in acknowledge that you've chosen to pause and reset.
With each exhale release the tension from your body.
You can do this right where you are at your desk standing by a window or even in the bathroom if you need privacy.
As you continue to breathe deeply feel your heartbeat begin to slow.
Remind yourself that panic is just a temporary response.
It will pass,
It's not who you are.
Imagine it as a wave that rises and falls but eventually recedes.
Keep breathing knowing that beneath the panic your natural calm is always there.
Now focus on grounding yourself in this moment.
Feel your feet firmly on the ground or notice how your body feels against whatever is supporting you.
Notice the clothes against your skin.
You are safe right now even if this panic feels overwhelming.
This feeling is just a thought moving through.
It doesn't define you or your ability to handle what's ahead.
Your innate resilience,
The calm within,
Is always present even when it feels buried under panic.
Take one more deep breath in and out.
