Good evening,

My name's Mark Rowland.

I'm so grateful you've chosen this meditation this evening to help you journey off into a beautiful,

Restful sleep.

Find a comfortable place to rest,

Allow your body to settle,

To soften,

To be held by the bed beneath you.

Let your muscles release,

Let your breath become steady.

Close your eyes,

Take a deep,

Nourishing inhale of breath,

Filling your lungs with cool,

Cleansing air,

And as you exhale,

Feel the weight of the day dissolving,

Feel the world growing quieter around you,

Breathe in again,

Deeply,

And as you exhale,

Imagine yourself stepping out of time,

Out of worries of the day,

Into a space of deep,

Deep stillness.

Tonight,

We take a journey,

A gentle walk through the hushed streets of London,

Where the lights flicker like tiny stars,

Where the city breathes in quiet rhythms,

Where time slows and peace gathers around you like mist.

Allow yourself to be carried by this journey,

You do not need to hold anything,

You do not need to do anything,

Only breathe,

Only be.

Imagine yourself now,

Standing at the edge of Green Park,

Where the city meets a pocket of beautiful nature,

A quiet oasis tucked between the grand old streets.

The sky above is a deep,

Rich indigo,

The first stars appearing like tiny silver pinpricks against velvet.

The air is cool,

Crisp,

Laced with the scent of damper and autumn leaves.

You take a step forward,

The soft gravel path crunches beneath your feet,

A gentle breeze stirs in the trees,

And you listen to the sound,

The delicate rustling of leaves,

The whispers of branches swaying high above.

You walk slowly,

Unhurriedly,

Feeling the city grow quieter and quieter with each step you take.

A warm glow spills from an old lamppost ahead,

Illuminating the path in golden light.

You pause beneath it,

Feeling its warmth against your skin,

Feeling the stillness wrapping around you like a soft protective cocoon.

Take a deep breath in,

And out,

Let go a little more.

As you continue walking,

You reach the gates of Buckingham Palace,

The intricate ironwork gleaming under the glow of lantern.

The palace itself stands silent and regal,

Its grand facade bathed in moonlight,

Watching over the city as it sleeps.

You pause here for a while,

A deep sense of stillness fills the air,

A quiet majesty that settles into your bones.

The world feels steady here,

Unwavering,

Like a sanctuary,

Untouched by time.

Take a slow,

Deep breath in,

And as you exhale,

Feel that steadiness sink into your own body,

A feeling of safety,

A feeling of peace,

A feeling of being held by something greater than yourself.

You stand here for a while,

You let this stillness seep into you,

Letting it quiet your thoughts,

Soften your breath,

Slow your heartbeat.

Turning away from the palace,

You follow the path into St.

James' Park.

Where the trees stand tall,

The lake stretches out before you,

Its surface,

Perfect mirror reflecting the night sky.

A swan glides silently across the water,

Its movements slow and effortless.

You watch it mesmerized,

Feeling your own breath mirror its graceful rhythm.

Everything feels softer here,

The world fades into a dream,

The hum of the city growing ever more distant.

You step onto a wooden bridge,

Pausing in the center,

Leaning against the railing.

The water below shimmers with the reflection of the lanterns lining the shore.

You breathe deeply,

The scent of cool water filling your lungs.

Let go a little more,

Let yourself be weightless like the swan drifting upon the lake,

Nothing to hold,

Nothing to carry,

Only breath,

Only stillness.

You continue walking,

Finding your way to the riverbank,

Where the Thames stretches out before you,

Endless and eternal.

The river moves in gentle waves,

A slow soothing rhythm mirroring the rising fall of your own breath.

The lights of the city dance upon its surface,

Flickering like fireflies,

Stretching on to infinity.

You walk along the river's edge,

The soft murmur of water filling your ears,

The distant echo of footsteps on the stone blending into the lullaby of the night.

Each step feels lighter and lighter,

And each step carries you deeper and deeper into surrender.

You pause now near Westminster Bridge,

Where Big Ben looms high above,

Its silent presence grounding you like a steady heartbeat beneath the skin of the city.

You close your eyes for a moment,

Feel the Thames river flowing beneath you,

You feel time dissolving,

Feel yourself being carried by something greater than thought,

Greater than worry.

You let it all go.

Turning away from the river,

You find yourself wandering into the quiet alleyways of Covent Garden.

The cobbled streets are hushed now,

The once bustling square empty,

Bathed in the golden glow of lanterns.

Through the stillness,

A soft melody drifts through the air,

A violinist laying somewhere in the distance,

His music slow,

Tender like a lullaby meant just for you.

You let the notes wrap around you,

Like a warm embrace,

Like a soft invitation to sink even deeper into rest.

Your breath slows,

Your body softens,

Your heart opens wide.

You are floating now,

Weightless in the night.

Your journey takes you now to Tower Bridge,

Standing strong and illuminated against the dark sky.

You walk towards its centre,

Pausing to gaze out over the river once more.

The world is completely still now.

A deep peace blankets the city,

Settling over rooftops,

Sinking into the streets,

Filling every quiet corner with softness,

With rest,

With quiet wonder.

And you,

You are ready for rest too.

You close your eyes,

Allowing yourself to be carried by the Thames,

By the city,

By London itself,

Moving by the breath in and out of your lungs,

Drifting,

Floating,

Surrendering.

With each breath,

You slip deeper,

Deeper into warmth,

Deeper into comfort,

Deeper into the soft embrace of sleep.

Here,

In the heart of London,

Under the quiet sky,

You let go,

You are safe,

You are home.

Sleep now,

Sleep deeply,

Sleep peacefully.

Good night my friend.
