Welcome,

My name is Mark.

Thank you for joining me in this meditation today.

This is your time,

A time to reconnect with yourself,

To soften the grip of what you can't control and to anchor yourself in what you can.

This meditation is inspired by the gentle yet powerful truth,

Let them let me.

A reminder that freedom begins the moment we stop trying to change others and start to fully allow ourselves to be who we are.

So wherever you are right now,

Whether you're sitting,

Lying down,

Standing still,

Just take a moment to get comfortable.

Let your spine grow tall and relax your shoulders,

Soften your jaw and unclench your hands.

Now gently close your eyes and begin to simply notice your breath,

Feel the air as it flows in and as it flows out.

No need to change anything,

Just observe.

With each inhale,

Allow yourself to arrive in this space,

And with each exhale,

Release the weight of the day.

This meditation is not about doing,

It's about being.

Being here,

Being present,

Being you.

And from this place of stillness,

We will begin.

Bring to mind now,

Situations or individuals where you feel the urge to control,

To change or to influence.

Perhaps it's a loved one's choices,

A colleague's behaviour or societal expectations.

As each scenario arises,

Silently repeat to yourself,

Let them.

Let them have their opinions,

Let them make their choices,

Let them walk their path.

Recognise that their journey is theirs alone.

Your attempts to control only tether you to unnecessary stress.

With each exhale,

Release the grip of control,

Feel the weight lifting as you let them be.

Now,

Turn your focus inward.

What desires,

Dreams or needs have you suppressed in the shadows of others' expectations?

It's time to honour yourself.

Silently affirm,

Let me speak my truth,

Let me pursue my passions,

Let me set healthy boundaries,

Let me prioritise my wellbeing.

Let me speak my truth,

Let me pursue my passions,

Let me set healthy boundaries,

Let me prioritise my wellbeing.

Understand that by granting yourself this permission,

You reclaim your power and your authenticity.

With each inhale,

Draw in self-acceptance.

And with each exhale,

Release self-doubt.

Imagine standing at the edge of a serene river.

In your hands,

You hold stones representing the burdens of control and unmet expectations.

One by one,

Gently toss each stone into the water,

Watching as the ripples expand and dissolve.

Feel the liberation with each release.

The river carries away your need to control,

Leaving space for peace and empowerment.

Now,

Envision stepping into the river.

Feel its cool,

Refreshing flow.

This symbolises your immersion into the natural rhythm of life.

Embracing both letting them and letting yourself.

To solidify this practice,

Repeat the following affirmations silently or aloud.

I release the need to control others.

I honour my own path and choices.

I embrace the freedom of letting go.

I trust in the journey both mine and theirs.

I am at peace with what I cannot change.

I release the need to control others.

I honour my own path and choices.

I embrace the freedom of letting go.

I trust in the journey both mine and theirs.

I am at peace with what I cannot change.

Allow these affirmations to resonate deeply within,

Integrating them into your being.

Slowly begin now to bring your awareness back to your physical surroundings.

Wiggle your fingers and your toes.

Feel the surface beneath you.

And take a deep,

Invigorating breath in.

And exhale with a sense of renewal.

And when you are ready,

Gently open your eyes,

Carrying the essence of let them,

Let me,

Into your daily life.

Thank you for joining me in this meditation.

I wish you the best for the rest of your day.
