Lie down in a comfortable position,
Letting your body sink into the surface beneath you.
Close your eyes and allow your awareness to gently turn inward.
Feel the steady support of the earth below,
Holding you in its embrace.
Begin to notice your breath,
The natural rhythm of inhalation and exhalation.
With each breath,
Feel yourself softening,
Your body and your mind becoming still.
Imagine yourself stepping into the vastness of nature,
Leaving behind now the distractions of daily life.
Now,
Perhaps you'd like to set an intention for this practice.
It may be to reconnect with the wild,
Instinctive part of yourself,
Or be deeply connected to the natural world.
Or maybe simply to just lay,
Be still and go within.
Hold this intention gently in your heart.
Bring your awareness to your body,
Part by part,
As if each area is being touched by the cool,
Refreshing breeze of the night.
Start with your feet,
Feeling them connected to the solid earth as though rooted into the ground.
Move up now,
Focus to your legs.
Imagine the strength of the muscles,
Like the sinewy power of a wolf's stride.
Shift to your hips and your pelvis,
Grounding you firmly to the earth like the base of an ancient tree.
Bring awareness to your belly,
Expansive and open,
Carrying the energy of life itself.
Feel your chest rise and fall with your breath,
Like the rhythm of the wind moving through the forest.
Now,
Notice your arms,
Strong yet subtle,
Ready for action.
Let your awareness rest on your hands,
Sensitive and aware,
As if brushing through the textures of leaves and fur.
Now,
Finally,
Bring your attention to your head,
Resting gently,
Or softening like the moonlight on a still lake.
Feel your whole body in perfect balance,
Grounding,
Alive,
Part of the natural world.
Now,
Imagine yourself standing in the heart of a dense forest under the silver glow of a moon.
The moon is full,
The air is crisp,
And carries the earthly scent of pine needles,
Damp moss,
And the faint sweetness of wildflowers.
You feel the cool night air on your skin,
Refreshing and alive.
You hear the sounds of the forest surrounding you,
The distant rustle of leaves.
The hoot of an owl.
The faint chirping of crickets.
And then,
Closer,
The low,
Resonant howl of a wolf.
You feel a deep connection to that sound,
As though it awakens something within you.
You look around and see the glowing eyes of your packmates,
In the shadows of the trees.
They are strong and steady,
Their presence giving you a sense of belonging.
You're not alone,
You are part of this.
Feel your body transform,
Your senses sharpen.
The cool earth presses beneath your paws,
Soft and damp.
You can smell the richness of the forest,
And the faint traces of a distant,
Flowing stream.
As you walk,
You taste the freshness of the night air,
Cool and pure.
Filling you,
Invigorating you with energy.
The forest comes alive around you.
The silvery moonlight filters through the treetops,
Casting shadows that dance with the swaying branches.
Each step you take is deliberate,
Part of a rhythm as ancient as the earth itself.
You move as one now with your pack,
Gliding silently through the trees.
You hear the snap of twigs,
The distant rush of a stream,
And the occasional call of a nightbird.
Every song feels like a sound of the wild,
Resonating deeply within you.
The pack emerges into a wide,
Moody clearing.
The air smells fresher here,
Filled with the crisp scent of the water nearby.
You lie down in the grass with the others.
Its cool,
Dewy blades pressing gently against your fur.
You feel the presence of your pack all around you,
Their warmth,
Their strength.
Their safety.
The taste of the air is electric,
Alive and grounding.
You lift your face to the sky,
Feeling the soft glow of moonlight on your skin.
A deep howl rises from within you.
And you join in,
Your voice blending with the others as one.
It's a song of unity,
Of connection to the earth,
Connection to the moon,
Connection to the wildness within you.
Rest here,
In the clearing.
Feel the pulse of the earth below you now.
The embrace of the night,
And the unbreakable bond between you and nature.
Begin to bring your awareness back now to your breath.
Feel its gentle rhythm.
The rise and the fall.
Notice again,
The support of the surface beneath you.
Wiggle your fingers and toes,
Feeling the energy of the wild slowly grounding back into human form.
When you feel ready,
Roll to one side and pause.
Holding onto the sense of deep connection you've cultivated.
Slowly press yourself up to a seated position,
Keeping your eyes closed.
Now take a deep breath in.
And exhale fully.
Remember,
You carry the wisdom of the wolf,
The harmony of the forest and the stillness of the moonlight within you.
Thank you for taking part in this yoga nidra meditation.
