Come and sit here.

Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.

Let's take a few moments to arrive in our body,

To ground ourselves,

To pause.

It can be really easy to get swept away into the things that we do,

Our to-do lists,

Demands,

Expectations that we put on ourselves and forget to breathe.

So come sit here just for a few seconds of mindfulness,

Hopefully minutes,

And hold yourself with kindness.

Take a deep inhale and exhale.

You are okay.

Everything else can wait for a few minutes.

The world will not fall apart.

You don't have to hold it all,

All the time.

This may be what your stress response is telling you,

What your brain in its frantic search for calm at the end of the last task.

But here's the thing,

There is never a last task,

Is it?

There is always a next thing to do,

Something else to jump to,

Grasp,

Catch,

Respond to,

And perhaps even react.

So practice being in everything that you do.

Practice not losing your breath in all the endeavors you dedicate your energy to.

Practice pausing in between activities and take a very deep,

Gentle breath with yourself.
