It's mostly impossible to get too happy from unhappy.
They're just opposite ends of the stick.
If you are feeling unhappy in whichever element of your life,
Perhaps it's one element,
Perhaps it's many,
The best way to feel better is to look for small things that do make you happy,
That you can focus on.
So it could be something as simple as smoothing your pet,
Your dog,
Your cat.
If you have an animal living at home with you,
A pet living at home with you,
Just spending time grooming them or stroking them can give you feelings of happiness.
Looking for the small elements that bring you joy or help you on that path to happiness.
You know we hear people say things like,
Don't worry,
Be happy,
Don't sweat the small stuff.
Well those are lovely notions but they are not that easy to action when you are feeling sad or upset or unhappiness or stress.
So today can you find something small that makes you feel happiness or a sense of joy or a sense of something positive?
And when you find that one thing,
It could be just going for a walk,
It could be listening to music,
It could be meeting a friend for a coffee,
But can you be fully present in that thing that is bringing you a sense of happiness?
So if you can dwell and linger on these small things that you can potentially bring into your everyday life,
This will really help put you back on a path to happiness.
You can't get too happy from unhappy,
You have to work towards it and by work I don't mean this needs to be hard work,
This doesn't need to be painful and this doesn't need to be a chore,
But just to linger in those areas of your day that make you feel a sense of content or joy or happiness.
Linger there,
Stay there for as long as you can and that will shift your mindset potentially only very subtly but this is enough to bring us onto that path of happiness.
