Hello and welcome to today's meditation.
Today's meditation helps bring stability,
Presence,
And unshakable calm to help either end your day or begin your day.
So let's go ahead and get started.
Find a quiet place,
A comfortable seat.
Sit with your spine upright.
Place your hands on your knees or your lap.
Gently close your eyes and soften your gaze.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in through your nose and exhale through your mouth.
Feel yourself arriving in this moment,
Letting go of whatever came before or comes after.
Right here,
Right now,
I arrive in stillness.
Begin to imagine a mountain,
A mountain that is tall,
Strong,
Ancient.
See its base rooted deep in the earth,
Steady and unmoving.
As you breathe,
Feel your body as the mountain.
Your legs and hips are the solid base.
Your spine rises like the mountain peak.
Your head reaches towards the sky.
With each exhale,
Feel yourself grounding deeper into stability.
I am steady and grounded like a mountain.
Notice your breath,
Your thoughts,
Your emotions,
Like weather around the mountain.
Some days,
The mountain stands in sunshine.
Other days,
It's surrounded by storm clouds or fog.
No matter the weather,
The mountain itself remains unchanged.
Allow thoughts or sensations to come and go,
Knowing they are just passing weather.
Clouds may come and go,
But the mountain remains.
Shift your awareness to the inner stillness beneath all movement.
Feel the quiet strength that exists in simply being.
If your mind wanders,
Gently return to the image of the mountain,
Vast,
Still,
Grounded.
Let your breath be slow and effortless.
In stillness,
I find strength.
Begin to notice the space around the mountain,
The sky,
The air,
The horizon.
Sense the connection between your stillness and the world's rhythm.
You are both grounded and open,
Rooted and vast.
Breathe into that balance of earth and sky,
Body and spirit.
I am both still and boundless.
Gently deepen your breath.
Feel the support beneath you.
Begin to bring the awareness back to your physical surroundings.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
When you feel ready,
Open your eyes softly.
Take a final breath and silently say,
I carry the stillness of the mountain within me.
