Today we will be doing a Roots of the Earth meditation.
This session will help you feel grounded,
Nourished,
And supported by the earth.
This is ideal for calming anxiety,
Reconnecting with stability,
Or grounding.
Find a comfortable position either seated with your feet flat on the floor or sitting cross-legged on the ground.
Let your spine be tall,
Your shoulders soft.
Close your eyes and take a slow,
Deep breath in through the nose,
And exhale through the mouth letting go of any tension.
With each breath,
Allow yourself to arrive fully here,
In this moment,
In this body,
On this earth.
Begin to feel the points of contact between you and the ground beneath you.
Notice the steady support beneath your feet,
Legs,
Or hips.
Notice how the earth holds you effortlessly.
Imagine that beneath you lies the vast body of the earth,
Strong,
Ancient,
And alive.
With every exhale,
Allow your body to relax a little more deeply into that support.
Now imagine roots beginning to grow from your body,
From the soles of your feet,
Or from the base of your spine.
These roots gently push down through the soil deeper and deeper.
Imagine the roots pushing down through layers of earth,
Rock,
And crystal.
Feel these roots anchoring you,
Connecting you to the deep,
Nourishing energy of the planet.
With every breath out,
Your roots grow stronger.
With every breath in,
They draw up stability and calm.
You are rooted,
Safe,
And supported.
Now imagine your roots absorbing energy from the earth,
A gentle golden or green light rising upward.
As energy moves from your roots into your legs,
Your hips,
Your belly,
Filling you with warmth,
Grounding,
And vitality.
With each inhale,
Draw in nourishment,
The strength of the mountains,
The patience of the trees,
The wisdom of the soil.
With each exhale,
Release anything heavy,
Letting it flow down through your roots to be transformed by the earth.
Breathing in,
You are nourished.
Breathing out,
You are cleansed.
Now feel your whole body as one with the earth,
Strong,
Stable,
Unshakable.
Even as life moves around you,
Your roots keep you centered.
Repeat silently to yourself,
I am grounded,
I am supported,
I am home.
Feel the deep peace that comes from being connected,
From knowing you belong to the earth.
Begin to bring your awareness back to your breath,
Gentle,
Natural.
Feel the support beneath you once again.
Know that your roots remain even as you move through your day.
Take one final deep breath in,
Drawing in the strength of the earth,
And exhale,
Releasing gratitude back down through your roots.
Gently wiggle your fingers and toes.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes.
Carrying this grounded calm with you today.
