Hi Vibrant Being,
Welcome to this guided visualization.
Today we are going to create a safe place in our minds,
A sanctuary where we can return to whenever we need safety or comfort.
I'm Sara and I'll be your guide today.
In a comfortable position,
Either sitting or laying down,
And gently close your eyes.
Take a deep breath in,
Filling your lungs completely,
And then slowly exhale,
Releasing any tension you might be holding.
Continue to breathe deeply,
Allowing each breath to relax you further,
And bring your attention to your belly.
Observe how it moves up and down in every inhale and exhale.
Now let your mind begin to wander,
Imagine a road,
You are walking down that road.
Observe how the way is,
What's around you,
Pay attention to it as you continue to walk.
At the end of the road you can see a door,
Walk to it and open it.
Enter to that room,
That's your secret world,
Your safe space.
This place can be anywhere,
Real or imagined.
It's a place that brings you a sense of tranquility and comfort.
Allow your imagination to guide you as you create this sanctuary in your mind.
Picture this place vividly.
Notice the colors and shapes around you.
What do you see?
What's the most predominant color?
What does this color say to you?
Does it have a special meaning?
Now focus on the sounds in your sanctuary.
What can you hear?
Are you alone?
Do you hear voices?
If you are in nature,
Do you hear waterfalls,
Birds?
Pay attention to every sound around you.
Next,
Bring your attention to the smells in the air.
What can you smell?
What does your sanctuary smell like?
As you continue to explore your safe place,
Notice the textures around you.
What's around you?
Touch it and pay attention to how it feels against your skin.
Spend some time in this environment,
Continue to explore it,
Continue to create it,
Fully immersing yourself in its peace.
Walk around,
Sit or lay down and let the serenity of the place wash over you.
Know that this is your personal sanctuary,
A place where nothing can disturb or harm you.
Understand that this place is always here for you.
You can return to it anytime that you need comfort or safety.
All you have to do is close your eyes and imagine it.
Take few more deep breaths,
Feeling the calmness and peace of your safe place filling your entire body.
When you are ready,
Gently begin to bring your awareness back to the present moment.
Wiggle your fingers and your toes,
Gently stretch your body and whenever you are ready,
Open your eyes.
Carry this sense of peace and safety from your sanctuary with you as you go about your day.
Remember,
This place is always within you,
Ready to welcome you whenever you need it.
