Welcome to this meditation where we have the gift of being able to rewind time,
Back to the moment where we woke this morning,
Watching the day unfold.
This meditation is best listened to at the end of the day where we have this opportunity to reflect back,
To see our day through a different lens and to perhaps carry with us some of the experiences and learnings from the day.
Listen to your body's guidance and find a comfortable position for you to sit or lie for these next few minutes.
Let your body ease into stillness as you take a few grounding breaths,
A big deep inhale and a slow releasing exhale.
Before we take a journey back to the beginning of our day let's just pause in the present moment,
Noticing any sensations within your body and also tuning in to your emotions with no judgment,
Just gentle curiosity,
A quality that we will keep with us throughout the journey of this meditation.
Reflecting with a little distance,
A beautiful opportunity to learn more about ourselves.
Now taking a moment to gently close your eyes if you haven't already done so or just soften your gaze as we begin to take the first steps to rewind time all the way back to this morning and the very first moment where you opened your eyes and began the day.
Can you recall what your first moments of presence were like this morning?
Did you wake filled with energy or was there resistance wanting to close your eyes again to drift off back to sleep?
Continue to watch as your morning unfolded,
The small anchors of memories pulling you back to key moments during the day.
Try not to get emotionally caught up in the moment,
Remember to keep a slight sense of space between you and the memories as they unfold but I wonder if you can recall how you felt this morning as you went about your day.
What was your energy like?
Was there a joy within you or excitement or even a heaviness as you anticipated the coming events of the day ahead?
Continue with the replaying of today's events as you head towards the afternoon.
Of course if there are moments you wish to go over remember to keep a little distance but I wonder if there are moments that went well for you even better than expected.
Perhaps there were moments of joy that you didn't have enough time to appreciate in that moment.
Feel free to pause as you continue to replay your day and if there were some challenges that you experienced today remember they are now in the past,
We can have a little distance as we recall the story of today and I wonder if there are any lessons,
Some learnings that we can use to take forwards on our journey ahead.
Now perhaps allowing the movie of today to move towards late afternoon,
Evening time.
Noticing what your energy levels were like,
Emotions,
Thought patterns allowing yourself to pause in any of the moments that draw you closer.
And now moving towards evening time just before you sat down to do this meditation.
What were the events of this evening,
The memories?
What was your energy,
Emotions,
Thought patterns like tonight?
And now perhaps taking a view of your whole day.
Have you been surprised at the moments that your mind pulled you back to today?
Were there some moments where you noticed there was more joy to be felt?
Where things perhaps unfolded in a way that was unexpected?
And sometimes our days do that,
There are changes that we're not prepared for but somehow we find our way.
Notice the wisdom that has arisen during the period of this meditation.
Have you noticed your own thoughts,
Your own perspective changing slightly?
As we reflect on this whole day how does that altered state of perception feel to you?
Do you wish to rewrite parts of today?
Or do you wish to remember today exactly as it was?
Holding some moments dear to your heart,
Precious memories captured.
Just take a moment to breathe in the whole day.
Remember tomorrow is not yet here but it holds so much opportunity.
Are there any intentions you wish to create for yourself?
Intentions born from your own wisdom,
Your own growth as we lay today to rest before welcoming the gifts of tomorrow.
And arriving fully back into the present moment now,
Dropping your awareness into your body once more,
Feeling the rhythm of your breath as you inhale and exhale.
And it's very natural for your mind to want to wander backwards to today,
Forwards to tomorrow.
But let's just let the seeds of reflection settle within us now as we allow ourselves the space to breathe and the space to be here right now.
