Compassion is an invitation to hold yourself in gentle acceptance with your experience with love and kindness.
It's an opportunity to quieten our inner critic and to shift the narrative to a voice of gentle compassion.
Being a friend to ourselves and listening to our inner wisdom of what we need in that moment.
So let's begin this meditation by taking a moment to listen to our body.
What does your body feel you need right now?
Do you feel like you wish to stand up,
Sit down or lie down?
Just find a comfortable position that feels right for you in this moment.
And if it feels comfortable for you I invite you to place your hands on your heart and taking a few lovely deep grounding breaths here as we arrive into this space together.
As we slow down just notice the feeling of your body breathing,
That gentle rise and fall of your chest as you inhale and exhale.
Feeling the beautiful connection that you already have with yourself.
And as we focus on our breath in this moment it automatically brings us to the present.
So ask yourself what is my experience right now?
No judgment,
Just gentle curiosity,
Exploring whatever your experience within you is right now.
I wonder if you can bring a sense of acceptance.
This is my experience right now.
Whatever the energy within you it is real for you,
It has meaning.
This is not about pushing away the feeling,
It's about sitting with the feeling until it is ready to pass.
Being human involves the highs,
The lows and everything in between.
This is all part of our existence.
We are not alone in our experiences.
This is all part of being human.
Whatever you are experiencing right now you are not alone.
Continue to hold yourself in this space with love and compassion,
Seeing if you can open your heart to welcoming this love to yourself.
I'm now going to say three phrases and if you resonate with them you're welcome to repeat them silently in your mind.
May I be safe.
May I be loved.
May I be a light to myself and to others.
May I be safe.
May I be loved and I be a light to myself and to others.
Just feeling those words and sentiments sinking into the energy within you and around you.
And now asking yourself a question,
Trusting whatever arises,
Asking what do I need right now that will help me.
And now breathing in compassion to your heart,
Letting it flow all throughout your body and the energy around you.
You are compassion.
Exhale compassion.
Gently blinking open your eyes if they've been closed,
Seeing the world through this new compassionate frame of being.
Namaste.
