Hello Friends,
This is Soul Surgeon Dr.
Tami with your mindful moment.
And this one is about noticing when you're distracted.
So there's a beautiful moment in meditation and just simply in life that most of us overlook.
It's the moment when you suddenly realize that you've drifted.
You realize that you're replaying a conversation in your head or planning dinner for tomorrow or wandering through some old memories in your mind.
And then in an instant you notice.
You notice that you're not present.
And the irony is that in the moment that you notice that you're not present,
You become immediately present.
So each time that you recognize you've been distracted and the mind's been wandering,
You've already stepped out of that trance and you've come back into presence.
Remember friends,
The mind will wander a thousand times.
But the return,
The return to presence,
That's the real practice.
This is the doorway back to yourself.
This is the doorway back to living your life in presence.
So instead of judging yourself and judging the distraction,
Simply bow to the moment when you notice.
That's you waking up.
That's awareness remembering itself.
