This meditation is perfect for relaxation, mindfulness, or as a grounding activity for kids of all ages. Whether sitting or standing, your child will learn to root themselves like a tree, stretch like branches to the sky, and feel the warmth of the sun and the gentle breeze around them.

Hello and welcome.

Welcome to this short guided meditation for kids.

And thank you for meditating with me today.

Thank you for being here.

Now find yourself in a comfortable space,

Sitting or standing,

You choose.

Take a slow,

Long,

Deep breath in and release.

Feel your body soften and your mind settle.

Now I want you to imagine you are stepping into a beautiful green,

Peaceful forest,

Teeming with animal sounds.

All around you are tall,

Wise trees with branches reaching high into the sky,

Full of life and calm energy,

Just like you.

Ralph Waddell Emerson said,

The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn.

What a beautiful quote.

Please know that within you too is the strength of a thousand forests.

The power to grow,

To stand tall,

To be still as well as steady.

You are filled with everything you need to blossom into something beautiful.

Now let's breathe together like the trees.

Take a deep breath in and imagine yourself as a tree growing tall.

Now as you breathe in,

Raise your arms up like they are branches stretching up to the sky.

As you exhale,

Gently let your arms float down,

Swaying like soft leaves in a gentle breeze.

Now let's breathe together.

Inhale again,

Slowly growing taller,

Reaching higher,

Gently stretching those arms to the sky again.

Stretch,

Stretch,

Stretch.

And as you exhale,

Lower your arms and feel your body relax like your leaves are dancing in the wind.

Now slowly stand up and breathe and root your feet deep into the earth,

Like a tree planting its roots.

Again,

As you breathe in,

Lift your arms high above,

Again stretching your branches.

And as you exhale,

Gently lean to one side,

Like your branches are reaching for the sun.

Breathe in and come back up.

Come back to center.

And exhale as you stretch to the other side.

Feel the sunlight on your face,

The breeze and your branches.

You are steady and you are free.

Now go back to center and release your arms back to your side.

Imagine now,

Dear one,

That you are a tree.

You are a tree.

Your roots dig deep into the earth,

Drawing strength and energy from below.

Feel how grounded and secure you are.

As you stand,

Feel the warmth of the sun on your branches and the gentle wind that moves through you.

You are a part of this earth,

Strong and steady,

Just like the trees.

Let's balance now,

Just like a tree in the wind.

Stand tall and gently lift one foot up.

Feel your roots holding you steady.

If you sway,

Let yourself flow with it,

Knowing that even the strongest trees dance with the wind.

Now switch sides and balance on the other foot.

You are strong.

You are grounded.

Feel the earth holding you.

Feel the sky above lifting you higher.

You are safe.

Now place that foot back on the ground.

Now I want you to imagine the sun filling you with light,

Warming every part of you.

You are growing,

Blossoming,

And becoming more peaceful with every breath.

Now take one more long deep breath in and slowly breathe out,

Feeling calm and steady,

Just like the trees in this magical forest.

Gently now shake your arms and your legs like the leaves in the wind.

Wiggle your fingers and toes,

Feeling light and full of life.

And know that you are strong.

You are rooted.

You are filled with the peaceful energy of the forest.

And anytime you need to,

You can return to this place where you are calm,

Where you are free,

And where you are loved.

You carry the strength and beauty of the trees within you always.
