Welcome,
If you've just finished a long work day or you're carrying the weight of responsibility right now,
Let this be the moment where work begins to end.
You've been holding a lot,
Decisions,
Conversations,
Expectations.
Before you move into the rest of your evening,
Let's shift your nervous system out of performance mode.
Take a slow breath in through your nose and let it go steadily through your mouth.
Again,
Inhale,
Exhale.
Now imagine placing an invisible bag down beside you.
All the unfinished tasks,
All the emails,
All the expectations.
Set them down.
You can pick them up tomorrow.
Roll your shoulders back once,
Slowly,
And let them drop.
Notice your jaw.
Allow it to unclench.
Let your tongue rest gently in the bottom of your mouth.
Bring one hand to your chest and one to your stomach.
Feel your breath move under your hands.
Work mode is a nervous system state.
It often requires alertness,
Speed,
Focus.
But now nothing is required.
Inhale for 4,
2,
3,
4.
Exhale for 6,
2,
3,
4,
5,
6.
Again,
Inhale for 4,
2,
3,
4.
Exhale for 6,
2,
3,
4,
5,
6.
Let the exhale be the signal that the day is ending.
You are more than what you produce.
More than how much you accomplish.
More than how useful you are today.
You are allowed to stop performing.
Feel your feet on the floor.
Feel your seat supported.
Let gravity hold you.
Take three slow breaths.
Notice if your body feels even slightly heavier.
Slightly steadier.
Stay here quietly.
Work can end,
Your body remains and it deserves care.
