Hi love,
I'm really,
Really glad you're here.
Before we do anything else,
Just know this.
There's nothing you need to prove by pressing play on this.
If you're listening at the start of a new year,
There's often this strange mix of feelings.
A bit of hope,
A bit of tiredness,
And sometimes a quiet sense of,
I should probably feel more ready than I do.
So if part of you feels unsure,
Overwhelmed,
Or a little behind,
You're not alone in that,
And you're not doing anything wrong.
For this moment,
It is enough to simply be here.
So let's arrive gently together.
Take a slow breath in through your nose,
And an easy,
Unforced breath out through your mouth.
No need to breathe deeply,
No need to do it right,
Just letting the breath come and go.
As you sit or lie here,
Notice where you are as this new year begins.
Notice how your body feels today.
Heavy,
Light,
Somewhere in between.
Notice your mind.
Maybe it's already planning.
Maybe it's tired.
Maybe it's jumping ahead.
And notice if there's any pressure in you to do this year better.
To be more motivated,
More focused,
More together.
You don't need to push any of that away.
Just let it be noticed.
Take another slow breath in,
And let it go gently.
The idea of a fresh start can sometimes feel like a lot to carry.
As if the calendar changed and suddenly you're supposed to know what you want,
Where you're going,
And how to get there.
But today we're not doing that.
Today we're doing something much kinder.
We're starting where you actually are.
Not where you think you should be.
Not where you were last year.
Not where anyone else seems to be.
Just here.
So take a moment to feel into your body again.
Notice the rhythm of your breath.
Notice how much energy you have or don't have.
And let yourself hear this clearly.
You're not behind.
You're not late.
You haven't missed your chance.
This moment right here is a perfectly valid place to begin.
Take one more gentle breath in,
And let it go slowly.
As we close,
I want to offer you a very simple intention for today.
You don't need to repeat it if you don't want to.
Just let it land.
I begin where I am.
That's it.
You don't need to do more than that today.
And if this feels supportive,
Come back tomorrow for day two,
Where I will gently release some of the noise and pressure that often shows up around New Year.
For now,
Take this calm with you.
You're doing just fine.
