Meditation.
Change the meaning.
Change the outcome.
Find a comfortable position sitting with your spine tall and supported or lying down with your arms relaxed by your sides.
Allow yourself to feel supported by the chair,
The floor,
The earth beneath you.
And close your eyes softly.
Take a slow inhale through your nose,
Letting your belly rise and hold for a moment at the top.
And then exhale gently again through your nose,
Allowing your body to drop deeper into relaxation.
Take another deep breath in.
Fill your lungs completely and pause.
And sigh it out,
Letting go of any tension in your shoulders,
Your neck or jaw.
And one last time,
A full breath in.
Drawing in calm and safety.
And exhale through the nose,
Releasing anything you don't need to carry right now.
Now,
Silently affirm to yourself,
I am safe.
I am open to seeing things differently.
By changing the meaning,
I allow a new outcome to unfold.
Bring your awareness now to your feet.
Feel them resting against the ground or surface beneath you.
Imagine warm energy gathering there,
Connecting you to the earth.
And visualize those gentle roots growing from your feet,
Sinking down through the floor,
Into the soil,
Through layers of rock,
All the way down into the heart of the earth.
Strong,
Stable and grounding.
And with each inhale,
Draw up the steadiness of the earth into your body.
And with each exhale,
Release stress and old stories and heaviness through those roots deep into the earth.
And then slowly scan your body from toes,
Feet and ankles,
To calves,
Knees,
Thighs and hips,
Relaxing as you go.
Moving up through your belly,
Your chest,
Your back,
Your shoulders,
Arms.
Anywhere you notice tightness,
Simply breathe into it again,
And soften as you exhale through your nose.
You are becoming spacious,
Anchored and ready to explore.
And now gently bring to mind a situation in your life that feels stuck,
Painful or unresolved.
Allow an image,
A memory or a pattern to just surface naturally.
And as you recall it,
Notice just what happened.
And notice the meaning you gave it.
What did you tell yourself this situation meant about you,
About others,
About life?
It might be a story like,
This happened because I'm not good enough,
Or I always get left behind,
Or if I don't control everything,
Things fall apart.
Don't judge yourself,
Just simply observe what the story is.
Notice the weight of that meaning in your body.
Perhaps it feels heavy in your chest,
Or tight in your throat,
Or restless in your stomach.
Just allow the emotion to be present.
It's safe to feel it here.
And simply acknowledge,
This was the meaning I once gave.
And now imagine yourself stepping back from this situation,
Like an observer,
Watching the story on a movie screen.
From this distance,
You can see more clearly.
And ask gently,
What else could this mean?
Could this challenge have been a turning point?
Did it reveal a strength you didn't know you had?
Did it push you to grow,
To seek something better,
To discover what truly matters?
Begin to explore these alternate meanings.
Each new possibility loosens the grip of the old story.
Notice which meanings feel lighter,
More expansive,
And more compassionate.
And continue to gently ask,
What else could this mean?
And then choose one new,
Empowering meaning that resonates.
See it before you as an image,
A picture,
A symbol.
A color.
However you like to see it.
You might even hear it instead,
Or smell it,
Or taste it.
This is your new story.
So bring your hands in front of you,
Palms facing this image.
And feel your own life force energy gathering in your chest,
In your breath,
In your lower dantian,
Beneath your belly.
Blowing down your arms and into your hands.
Take a deep inhale.
And as you exhale,
Imagine blowing this energy gently onto the picture,
Filling it with vitality,
With light,
With possibility.
Repeat several times.
Inhale strength,
See the belly and the chest expand.
And exhale energy,
Or chi,
Into your new story.
With each breath,
The image grows brighter,
More alive,
More magnetic.
Feel how this shifts for your inner state.
From heaviness to hope,
From stuckness to flow.
And then imagine placing this glowing image gently onto your timeline ahead of you into the future.
Watch from above,
Looking down onto your timeline as it settles into place,
Sending ripples of change outward.
And shaping your path.
From above,
See your life unfolding with this new meaning already woven in.
Notice yourself responding differently,
Making choices from strength,
Attracting outcomes aligned with this new perspective.
Sense how the future feels lighter,
Freer and more aligned.
And take a moment to sit in the stillness of this new reality.
Feel the difference inside your body.
Perhaps more space in your chest,
More ease in your breath.
More openness in your heart.
And acknowledge to yourself,
I have the power to change meaning.
And when I do,
The outcome changes too.
I have the power to change the meaning.
And when I do,
The outcome changes too.
Slowly bring your awareness back to your breath.
Inhale deeply.
And exhale fully.
Wriggle your fingers and your toes.
Bring in movement back into the body.
And when you're ready,
Just take one final cleansing breath.
Exhale completely and let go of any residue of the old story.
And then gently open your eyes,
Returning to the room.
You carry with you the new meaning,
The lighter story and the freedom of fresh outcomes.
