Welcome to this meditation for cultivating peace.

We'll begin by relaxing and grounding the body,

Placing our awareness fully on the present moment,

And then experience a deep feeling of peace you can carry with us for the rest of the day.

So,

Let's begin by finding a comfortable position,

Sitting upright with a straight spine or laying down.

Close your eyes and take a deep breath in,

Exhaling slowly.

With each breath,

Relax your body more and more.

Adjust your position to completely relax your body,

And allow the body's energy to flow freely.

Pay close attention to how your body feels.

Let's start at the feet.

Become aware of how your toes feel,

Your whole feet,

And ankles,

Moving your awareness to your lower legs,

Your knees,

Your thighs,

Hips,

Relaxing each part as you go.

Paying attention now to your lower abdomen,

Move up to your solar plexus and ribcage.

Feeling your lungs as you breathe in that life-giving breath.

Becoming aware of your heart,

Your whole chest,

Your back.

Paying attention now to your shoulders,

Relaxing them even more,

Your upper arms,

Your elbows,

Now your lower arms,

Hands,

Fingers,

Releasing any tension.

Then relaxing your neck and throat,

Your jaw,

The muscles of your face,

Your eyes and forehead,

And the top of your head.

Now become aware of your whole body at once,

Relaxed and present in this moment.

Being this aware of your body may almost make you feel like you're tingling,

Like your body is tingling,

Like every cell is vibrating with the joy of existence.

Whatever sensation you have,

Stay present with your body,

Giving it gratitude for always supporting you,

Always serving you the very best that it can.

Perceive now also the ground beneath you,

Supporting you in this moment.

You're feeling grounded and connected to the earth.

Perceiving now the space around you,

Letting all the sounds you hear blend together in a symphony played just for you,

Without giving any meaning to any particular sound.

Letting all of your thoughts fade away,

Passing by as soon as they arise,

Not holding on to any of them.

Revel in the state of presence,

The state of absolute calm and peace.

Feel as your body absorbs this profound peace into every cell.

Regardless of what else is happening around you in your day-to-day life,

This profound peace is accessible to you at all times.

Feel the sense of peace increase with every moment.

Breathe in this infinite peace and calm,

Allowing it to fill your body and mind.

Feel that your whole body and mind are dissolving into this ocean of peace around and within you.

Relax here in this moment as long as you want,

Completely dissolved in this ocean of peace.

You are this peace.

Resolve to hold on to this feeling throughout the rest of your day,

Remembering this feeling of peace now,

And that you can call it back to you whenever you like.

And when you are ready,

You can slowly start to move your fingers and toes,

Keeping this feeling of peace within you,

And as you open your eyes,

Remain present to the peace that surrounds you.

Realize you can take this peace with you wherever you go as you go about the rest of your day.

And to close,

Give thanks to yourself for giving yourself this gift of peaceful awareness.
