Find a place where you can walk peacefully along aside an ocean, a river or a stream, then allow yourself space to connect with this meditation. The element of water allows you to connect with the emotions deep within you as you bring balance to your mind, body and soul.

Hello and welcome to this guided walking meditation to connect with the oceans,

The rivers and the sea,

As you honour and embrace the element of water.

Before beginning this guided meditation,

Let me share with you some of the properties of water so that you are able to connect with it at a much deeper level.

So the element of water is the universal source of life,

It is essential for survival.

In many cultures,

Water is symbolic of our emotions,

It invites us to surrender to all that we feel inside as we go with the flow of life.

If you are connecting with the element of water,

You are being invited to connect with your own internal experience.

Release any resistance that you may have,

And allow water to cleanse and heal any wounds that may be present within you.

Listen to your emotions,

Notice where they may come from and allow your tears to flow.

Let the water wash all over you to nourish and feed your soul.

Remember that water easily adapts to its surroundings,

If there is an obstacle on your path,

Allow the power of water to help you navigate your way around it.

So there we go,

Some beautiful properties of the element of water.

So now let me guide you on this walking meditation as you connect with the water that surrounds you,

Whether you find yourself close to a river which you can walk along,

An ocean where you can connect with the waves,

Or another body of water that can allow you to feel into your emotions and surrender to the beauty of who you are.

So to begin this guided meditation,

I'd like for you to plant your feet on the ground,

And as you feel your feet on the ground,

I'd like you to feel and connect with the balls of your feet,

All around your toes,

And then feeling in to your heel as you feel the ground beneath you.

Take that deep breath in through your nose,

And out through your mouth,

Just allow yourself to relax as you feel the balls of your feet and you feel your heel on the ground,

As you connect with mother earth in this moment,

Feeling that sense of groundedness and much deeper connectedness.

As you feel your feet on the ground,

I'd like you to begin by relaxing your posture,

Almost as if you're slightly sitting down,

Where you become quite limp and relaxed,

But you can feel at ease as you connect there in this moment,

And as you do so,

Allow yourself to focus on your breathing,

Taking that deep breath in through your nose once again,

And out through your mouth,

In through your nose,

And out through your mouth,

And relax your body,

Relax your legs and relax your shoulders,

As we begin this walking meditation.

Now that you find yourself relaxed as you stand there,

I'd like you to focus on a spot in the distance,

As you focus on that spot,

Allow your awareness to expand around you,

As you see in your peripheral vision,

Much like viewing in a panoramic view,

Where you've got a much wider perspective on your surroundings,

And that wider perspective of yourself.

As you begin to connect with your surroundings,

Feel the earth beneath your feet,

Feel the freshness of the air on your face,

Allow yourself to settle in to your surroundings,

And then allow yourself to begin this slow and steady walk,

As you connect with nature.

Now whether you find yourself by a beautiful flowing river,

Or by the ocean,

Where the waves are crashing in and out,

Allow yourself to connect with the water,

Connect with the flow of your life,

And the energy that water brings you in this moment,

In order to cleanse,

Heal and to surrender in to your emotions,

As you go with the flow of life,

If you find yourself by a river,

Notice the flow of the water as it flows within the stream,

Smell the freshness of the air in this moment,

And just connect with the beauty of the water that surrounds you,

Knowing that it's a beautiful universal source of life,

If you find yourself connecting with the ocean around you,

Hear the sound of the waves,

Crashing in and out,

That's right,

And as you begin to do that,

Whether you are by a river or by the ocean,

Allow yourself to feel in to those emotions,

Surrender to the emotions,

As they show up for you in your life,

Notice where they reside in your body,

As you feel and connect with them,

Be honest with what the emotions are in this moment,

As you allow water to cleanse and heal your wounds,

Listen to your emotions and notice where they come from,

If you feel like doing so,

Allow those tears to flow,

As the water washes all over you to nourish and feed your soul,

Allow yourself to walk beside the river or the ocean and again feel the water as you connect with it,

You may want to dip your feet in to the water as you walk within the river,

Or as you walk along the sea,

Again feel those emotions and connect with the depths of those feelings inside,

The water is inviting you to surrender to all those emotions that you feel inside as you go with the flow of life,

Whatever is showing up for you in your life at this moment,

Allow yourself to be present with it,

Connect with those thoughts,

Connect with those emotions,

Feel in to them,

Allow them to rise up,

Release them and slowly let them go,

As you cleanse and heal any wounds that may be present in your mind,

Your body and your soul,

Listen to your emotions and notice they are there to guide you and support you through life's journey as you connect with yourself and your path,

Know that if there is an obstacle in your path,

Allow the power of water to help you navigate around it,

Feel in to that water once more,

Allow those emotions to come up and then allow them to be released,

As you walk in nature,

Allow nature to assist you with grounding and connecting with yourself,

Know that mother earth is always supporting you in this moment,

If you allow yourself to connect with her,

Water is a beautiful cleanser and healer,

Allow yourself to walk slowly and steadily in nature,

And if you are by the river,

Notice the flow of the river,

As the water meanders around the rocks,

You may notice the water within the ocean,

As the waves come crashing in and as they meander around the rocks,

Knowing that any obstacle in your path,

You can allow the power of water to assist you with navigating around the obstacles which you may face,

Take a deep breath in through your nose,

And out through your mouth,

And allow yourself to connect with who you truly are in this moment,

Whatever the emotions that you feel,

Are right and true for you,

And that's the beauty of life and your journey.

Feel your feet as you walk through nature,

Hear the sounds of the river and the sounds of nature around you,

Hear the sounds of the ocean,

And allow water to continue to cleanse and heal your mind,

Your body and your soul.

I'm going to close out this guided walking meditation,

The element of water.
