It is so lovely to be able to welcome you in at the end of your day.
This is an invitation to slow down.
And support your system.
In recognizing it has worked hard.
And that now it is time to release and replenish.
Which is just as important as all the doing.
So I invite you to really settle in to being here.
You have taken this space.
You have pressed play.
So really be here and make the most of it.
As much as your brain might want to ping you off to things still to do,
Decisions still to make.
Your brain will do its thing and we'll come to that shortly.
For now,
I invite you to really consciously land and ground in your body.
Whatever physical position you are in.
I invite you to consciously.
Root into the ground,
Into the furniture,
With the parts of your body.
That are anchoring you.
That are touching the ground or furniture.
With reassurance and gratitude,
Notice those parts that are grounding you.
And then also upholding the rest of you.
If you want to negotiate with the balance of your body.
To settle in and really feel anchored.
Please do.
But you may just want to stay exactly where you are.
Either way,
I invite you to relinquish your weight into the ground or furniture.
And invite yourself in from the busyness.
To land here.
In this stillness.
In this space of decompression.
Release.
And switching off from whatever busyness you have been in.
Welcome yourself,
However you are.
Modern life is just so busy.
It expects so much of us,
Which means that our whole system gets into a heightened state of doing.
More than it is healthy for us.
And this,
Of course,
Means we have less time for decompressing.
So I invite you to use your breath.
To invite your body in to decompress.
And have grace towards yourself.
It won't happen all at once.
This is an encouraging invitation,
A welcoming,
Loving coaxing of your system.
To trust and release and just be.
You may well experience resistance in your muscles and your fascia.
That is completely understandable.
When we show grace and softness towards our body.
It softens in response.
So,
Be soft with yourself.
Breathe that softness in.
You likely have resistance in your mind too.
It may well be bugging you with tasks that still need completing.
Things that need to be done,
Decisions that need to be made.
Or even other people's struggles that are weighing on your mind.
If our minds are holding on to a to-do list,
It's really hard to get it to chill out and let go of it until tomorrow.
However,
Our minds do love acknowledgement and recognition.
And it helps our minds to release and shift away from the doing.
So,
I invite you into some reflection.
And I really invite you to keep this light.
Hold it gently.
What can you acknowledge about yourself today?
What have you achieved?
Completed or overcome.
What have you learned about yourself?
What is clearer now?
And what can you let go of?
If you don't have answers to all the questions,
That's just fine.
They are an offering,
An invitation.
For now,
I invite you to give your mind permission to put down the to-do list.
That is for another day.
Today you have achieved so much.
And now is the time to replenish.
Using your breath.
Keep breathing in to bring more spaciousness into yourself.
And breathing out,
Encouraging your body to give its weight into that grounding.
Breathing in with intention and breathing out into decompression,
Release and restfulness.
Breathing in for nourishment as you breathe out.
Imagine yourself breathing space in between your cells.
As you breathe in,
Breathe in the invitation into luscious rest.
Breathing out,
Surrendering to that rest.
Trusting.
That you have done enough.
Your amazing system contends with and achieves so much in life.
And it is also incredibly intelligent when it comes to rest.
It just needs permission to do so.
So What do you need to do to let yourself get a little bit more comfortable?
With the idea of slowing down.
Of simply being.
Trusting and feeling safe in the wisdom that this letting go,
This release,
This rest.
Is so,
So useful.
Productive.
And crucial.
And if you let yourself get used to this.
In such a welcoming.
Inviting way.
You might just enjoy it.
