This is for the moments where emotions feel strong,
When something rises quickly,
Frustration,
Overwhelm,
Comparison,
And you feel like it might take over,
When your thoughts start racing and your body tightens,
And you can feel yourself getting pulled in.
In those moments,
There's a choice.
It's not about pushing away,
It's not about scrolling,
And it's not about controlling it.
It's about creating space around it.
Because when you create space,
Even the smallest amount of space,
Your body has time.
Time to soften,
Time to respond,
Instead of react.
And that space begins here.
If it feels good,
Gently close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Take a slow inhale,
And a longer exhale.
Maybe even letting the inhale and exhale be audible.
Feel rooted,
Spine tall but easy,
And bring some gentle awareness to your breath.
As you breathe,
Notice your thoughts.
Let them pass like clouds across the sky of your mind.
No chasing,
No holding,
Just noticing.
Inhale and exhale.
And as you keep breathing,
Begin to notice that there is space between the thoughts.
Between the clouds.
Even if it's small,
When you find it,
Rest there.
Just for a moment.
Stay with your breath,
The inhales and the exhales.
The full rhythm moving through you.
Every time you feel that tiny bit of space,
Breathe into it.
Let it gently expand.
And when your mind fills again,
That's okay.
Let the thoughts move through and come back to the breath.
Again and again.
If there's a feeling present,
Something like frustration,
A bit of overwhelm,
Just notice it.
No need to go deeper.
No need to figure it out.
Let it sit in the background while you stay with your breath.
And if you notice even a little space around it,
Breathe there.
That small space is enough.
Let it grow with each breath.
Without effort.
Thoughts come,
Thoughts go.
Like clouds.
And when you stay with the breath,
Stay here for a few more breaths.
And when you're ready,
Feel your feet.
Feel your heart.
Feel your spine.
Your breath.
And carry this space with you.
If this helped you create even a little bit of space,
Save this.
Come back to it.
The more you practice this,
The more natural it becomes.
And if someone comes to mind,
Share it with them.
I encourage you to keep practicing this because your space between the thoughts is the most amazing gift you can give to yourself.
And you'll start to see the ripple effect of that by the way you respond.
As always,
We rise together.
