Imagine just for a minute that you could bring anything from your imagination into the real world from the wants and needs of your inner self.

Imagine just for one minute that you could do anything,

Be anything,

And be anybody you wanted to be.

Now imagine that you can feel it within you like a stream of positive energy that will stop at nothing to make it happen.

We are all limitless,

And it is just the barriers that we create for ourselves that stop us from being the person we yearn to be.

Listening to this guided meditation on a regular basis will enforce the image of the person you want to be.

This guided meditation will make you aware of your current position,

Make you think about the people around you,

Help you embrace change,

And pursue your goal.

Close your eyes now,

Just let your mind know that you are ready to start this journey.

I say it is a journey,

As everything has a start,

Middle and an end.

There will be three phases to get to your new self,

The first being motivation,

Putting doubt behind you and letting go of preconceived ideas,

The second pushing through obstacles and not letting people pull you back,

And the third,

Reaching and maintaining the energy needed to make it happen.

In a moment,

I'm going to count down from 20 to 1.

Imagine yourself at the top of a staircase,

And with each number down,

You descend one step.

When I say the number 1,

You will reach the bottom of the staircase,

With each step down,

You leave stress,

Anxiety and doubt behind,

And become more relaxed.

Bottom of the staircase,

The air down here is cooler,

And you find it easier to breathe,

Which relaxes you deeply,

The smell of cut grass reaches your nose,

And birdsong can be heard.

In front of you is a door with a key,

Unlock the door and go inside,

Taking the key with you.

Opening the door releases more fresh air and a sun that warmly welcomes your face,

Taking a deep breath in,

You walk through the doorway,

To the outside,

Close the door behind you,

This is a symbol to your subconscious that you are leaving doubt,

Anxiety and stress behind.

With the door firmly closed and locked,

You place the key in your pocket,

Looking around you see a beautiful scene of old oak trees,

A meadow and a small stream nearby.

Take your footwear off and walk barefoot on the grass,

Walking along,

Your cares seem to fade away and a sense of relaxation washes over you,

Being in a new environment changes your mood positively,

And almost instantly,

Aware of the gratifying sensations of touch,

Smell,

Sight and sound create immense pleasure that sometimes gets forgotten,

The simple pleasures of just being able to relax is now felt and also relayed to your subconscious.

Walking at a slow pace,

Feeling content in the warm sun,

On the grass emphasising your intentions with its crisp sound,

You are now at a stream,

You have left any old feelings behind whilst walking and time seems to matter not,

You feel free and have time to breathe in perspective,

Water in the stream glistens with a glow from the sun,

Like diamonds being pulled around in the light,

Its sound is ever more relaxing and only adds to the already euphoric feeling you have.

You bend down towards the water's edge and see your face as a reflection in the water,

Knowing you have been ready for your own journey to start,

You look into your reflections eyes,

You see determination,

A willingness to push forward,

But also,

A shadow of doubt in your own abilities,

Being attracted to the determination and willing,

You ponder to yourself,

What if,

If I don't get started,

If people judge me,

If I don't make it,

Starting anything to help change your life can be daunting,

But it all starts with the first step,

Once you place one step forward,

You will only gain momentum,

Seeing that sparkle of life that shines brightly in the reflection of your eyes,

You take a deep breath,

In your hands,

You place them in the water,

It feels very strange,

The hesitation is real,

But this is your first step,

You found sensation of the water being cool,

Clean and refreshing makes you want more of this feeling.

We'll count down from 5 to 1,

When I reach 1,

I would like you to symbolise the start of your journey with gently splashing the water onto your face,

5,

3,

Your eyesight seems clearer and the scene around you is more immersive than before,

The re energising water washing your face seems to intensify your focus on everything around you,

Warmth from the sun feels more welcoming,

The grass seems greener,

The sky bluer and the whole atmosphere of this scenic,

Panoramic view is addictively consuming,

You feel taller,

You feel stronger,

You feel in control,

Thinking clearly now,

You sit and bask in this delightful scene,

You stand up and take a look at a map that stands next to you,

You can see where you are on this map,

And also your destination,

Looking at the map,

You can see that you have to follow a path through a densely wooded area,

You have never walked this path,

And the feeling of trepidation is understandable,

But you are determined to finish what you have started,

You stand to face the direction of your path,

Your goal,

And take a deep breath,

As you exhale,

This is your signal and you are ready to walk this unfamiliar area.

Taking the first step with courage,

You press on,

One foot after the other,

With each step,

More strength and courage can be felt,

In the distance,

There is what could be described as a wall of trees,

The path in front of you and your focus is solely getting to the path,

A warm breeze in the air is yet another signal that your journey has started,

You are on your way to better things,

Having reached the path,

You look around to see the lush green leaves on the trees,

Wildlife actively animated,

And colours of nature.

Walking on the path gives you a sense of purpose,

Momentum and seemingly pulling you closer to the finish,

Deers,

Rabbits and squirrels can be seen in this green oasis,

You now walk with an air of pride,

Humbleness and a purpose,

You are making headway and your determination is unshakable,

Up ahead is a small hill,

You can't quite see what's on the other side,

Which makes you quizzical and curious.

There is a slight upslant,

But the steeper incline doesn't seem to matter,

You walk more deliberately than before,

Reaching the top of the hill presents you with somewhat of a different scene than what you have experienced so far.

On the other side of this hill,

The trees seem to have rotted away,

Looking much like skeletons of their former selves,

The grass is yellow,

And the smell of must is quite pungent,

All wildlife has disappeared,

And dark clouds start to descend over what was once a beautiful part of this forest.

As with any journey,

There is a part that is the hardest,

Which will include setbacks,

An uneasy feeling,

And possibly parts that make you feel like you are acting out of character.

With this overall picture,

To get to the destination,

You may feel like turning back,

Because it may be too hard or lonely to carry on,

But on the other side,

Is your destination,

You are halfway there,

You're committed,

Your dream will only become real by facing conflict,

Staying strong in times of feeling the pullback,

And determination that you will succeed.

What you're seeing may feel like a setback,

But again,

One foot in front of the other gains momentum,

Once your first step is initiated,

Your other foot follows,

And with more steps comes more determination.

Walking through this part of the forest can also be seen as the point of where you were before you started this journey,

The desire of a dream or a goal was there,

But lacked the vision that you now have from the experiences you have gained.

On the horizon,

You see a brick wall with a white wooden gate,

Your goal is inside.

Putting the lifeless wooded area behind you,

You are beckoned by the gate,

With an enthusiastic drive and desire,

Your footsteps feel more deliberate now,

As you make your way towards the gate.

Now at the gate,

You take another deep breath,

As you cup the handle in your palm,

Opening the gate slowly,

Fresh new sunlight shines through,

That grassy scent can be smelled once again.

Walking through the gate,

You see more colour than you did before in the flowers,

The trees and newly formed blue sky,

Fragrances that you have never smelt before greet your nose.

The warmth of the sun once again caresses your face,

Your shoulders relax in this wooded bliss of accomplishment,

The path you now walk looks new and in place.

At the end of the path,

Is a wooden box on a stand,

You walk towards it,

You peer over the edge of this box and see many keys inside,

The keys that are in there look very similar to the one you have in your pocket,

The one that locked the door at the start of the journey.

You take out your key and have a close look at it,

It is the same as the other keys in the box,

A sense of pride washes over you which tells you that you made it,

It seems others have made the journey that you have,

And placed their keys in the box,

Looking back at the gate that you walked through,

Think about your journey from start to finish,

Now place your key inside the wooden box and now let go of any old thinking and embrace the change that was needed to get to your goal.

On the other side of this wooden box is another gate,

If you would like to awaken and start your journey then please walk through the gate,

If you would like to stay here for a while then you are more than welcome,

As you have deserved it,

In a few moments you will be relaxed enough to experience a good night's sleep,

Letting the day dissolve away.

It's sometimes difficult to drift off into a comforting sleep,

The mind is exaggerating emotions,

Experiences and generally overthinking things.

Make yourself as comfortable as you can,

Ready to surrender to sleep,

At any time during this meditation,

You can give your eyes permission to gently close,

In the right environment and atmosphere for sleep is important,

And to make the most of this quiet time,

I would like you to imagine a dreamcatcher above you,

It is round and has embellishments of symbols relevant to you.

In the middle of this dreamcatcher is a net,

This will guard you whilst you sleep and take away any external negative energies,

Acting like a filter to your receiving energy.

Just off the sides are feathers hanging downwards towards you,

This net takes in all energy around you,

Purifying it and sending positive light down from its feathers to you.

Whilst you receive the energy,

Relax into a calm and loose deep sleep,

You want to take a deep breath in and let it out,

You can,

Just to relax you.

Take your awareness to your breath now,

Just observe it,

You don't have to change anything,

Just feel the gentle rise and relax of your chest as you prepare to go to sleep,

The calming sounds of inhaling and exhaling,

Sound similar to a gentle tide on a beach.

As you inhale,

Visualise positive or plus signs,

And feel guilt free about nesting into sleep.

As you exhale,

Visualise negative or minus signs,

Letting all tense feelings out into the atmosphere around you,

Don't worry,

As you start to relax and let go,

The dreamcatcher will filter the energies around you,

In through the net,

Purifying and releasing positive energy down the soft feathers back to you.

Sleeping under this dreamcatcher will soothe your rest and reenergise you for when you are ready to awake,

As you start to relax,

You may feel your eyes testing themselves to see if they can open,

It starts to feel like it is easier for them to stay closed.

You may also want to yawn,

Taking in more positive restful energy,

To bring on that lazy feeling,

Your arms and legs may slightly jerk as you start to drift off into the dream world.

Drifting into sleep,

You may sometimes catch yourself in between worlds,

The protective energy of the dreamcatcher softly feeds your want for sleep,

Letting you know it's ok to do so,

Your mind starts to relax as thoughts that linger are being pulled into the filter of the dreamcatcher,

Anything hindering you from sleeping is automatically filtered out and softened.

As you relax more and more,

Any outside sounds fade off into the distance,

As you become more calm and embrace sleep,

Your eyes drift ever more into the distance,

Beckoning your eyelids to close softly,

Dreamcatcher observes you from head to toe,

Peeling away any thoughts and feelings,

And sending down sleepy,

Dreamy sensations to your mind,

You feel safe,

Sleepy and relaxed,

As your mind settles down,

Your body rests itself into position,

Ready for sleep.

As the dreamcatcher creates a soothing atmosphere around you,

It's feathers send their softness to you,

Your pillow becomes softer,

And seems to deflate into an air pocket of surrender for your head and neck,

Loosening all the muscles around your shoulder area,

The mattress below you seems to slip away and it feels as if you are laying on air,

Your body becomes lazy and limp in this comforting and relaxed feeling,

The hug of the blanket is warm,

Positive and reassuring,

Your feet and ankles relax into position,

Giving way to sleep,

As they do,

Your mind relaxes more,

Sending a signal to your eyes to relax and softly sleep,

Having such soft sensations,

You begin to fall asleep,

Your legs melt with every lack of thought,

Surrendering to soothing sensations,

Your back releases the last of today and your abdomen helps your chest to breathe more easily,

Breathing deeper and with longer breaths,

Sleep is realised.

In between thoughts,

You settle down deeper,

Calmer and more relaxed,

As one thought passes,

A slightly faded version passes by,

With longer intervals in between,

Until all thoughts have faded away,

You are consumed with sleep,

As the blanket soothes your body,

Sleep hugs your mind in reassurance,

Letting you know that it is not time to deal with anything but the comfort that you feel,

With your mind relaxing,

Your body welcomes peace,

Relaxing more and more,

Becoming calmer and sleepier,

Healing is another property of the dreamcatcher,

Drawing out any emotion that is not needed again,

As you rest,

Emotional blocks,

Emotional pain,

Worry and stress is drawn up into the dreamcatcher,

And dissolved through its powerful net,

What is sent back down through the feathers,

Is comfort,

Relief and peace,

Whilst you sleep,

Relief is experienced,

Helping you gain the energy needed for the day ahead,

Comfort comes from knowing that you are rested and relaxed,

Leading to better informed decisions in the day time,

And the peace from looking after yourself,

Any feeling of emotion that has played on your conscious or subconscious mind,

Can now be let go,

These emotions are like a fog that will disappear,

Moving away slowly,

And dissolving,

They may on occasion pass through,

But your awareness shifts to the positive,

As you relax more and more,

Only positive emotions can be felt,

Now surrendering to sleep,

You do the same with your emotions,

The calmer and more peaceful you become,

Give the dreamcatcher permission to draw in these emotions,

As you sleep,

You now start to feel heavier,

Drifting downwards deeper and deeper,

Slowly but surely,

You are gently falling asleep,

Tit and neck gently press more into the pillow,

With each and every breath that you take,

Your body slowly descends downwards,

Finding its place on the comfortable mattress,

Your legs and ankles release the last of the outside world,

As you drift into a deep,

Deep sleep,

The blanket covering you is soft,

Warm and reassuring,

Snugly wrapped around you,

As if you were being hugged,

The darkness of your eyelids transcends into the distance,

As you rest deeper,

May slightly open as you drift further and further,

Releasing and peeling your tongue away from the roof of your mouth,

All facial muscles relax,

As if sinking with gravity into the pillow,

Your cheeks relax,

Your jaw relaxes,

Your brow and eyes relax,

All sensations from the outside world,

As you softly float into your dreamland,

The darkness of your eyelids beckons you more,

And the satisfying relaxed feeling in your mind,

Receives the gift of sleep,

Graciously,

The dreamcatcher will carry on keeping you safe as you sleep,

Relaxing you more,

Into a state of euphoria.
