To meditate is to empty the mind,
To empty the content of the consciousness,
To really connect ourselves with this moment.
We actually only belong to this moment if we are not distracted by thoughts,
Illusions,
Ideas,
Plans,
All kinds of daydreaming.
When the mind is not connected with this moment,
The mind tends to develop the intellectual capacity in all kinds of ways.
Look at the development of the civilization of this world.
Isn't it partially because the mind is not connected with nature?
The mind is more into the thoughts,
Reasoning,
Thinking.
That's why we have developed such a wonderful intellectual capacity to invent all kinds of things.
From the computer rocket,
The space exploration,
To the development of medicine.
But at some time,
The life has been confronted with more challenges,
Issues,
Problems,
Conflicts.
Because for most people on this planet,
The life is no longer based on nature.
Instead,
Thoughts have dominated a very much part of the life,
If not all.
Such a way of living leads to issues inevitably,
All kinds of challenges,
All kinds of problems.
Individually,
Everyday,
One has a lot of issues to solve.
These issues found personal inclination,
Idiosyncrasy,
All kinds of neuroticism,
Reactions,
Illusions.
To meditate is to seriously inquire into this way of life.
Question it.
Don't say it's good or bad.
Investigate seriously.
To see the consequence,
To see the impact,
To see the implications of this real life.
On the well-being,
On the human being,
On the whole being.
