Welcome to your Inner Child Meditation.
Make yourself comfortable now and begin to settle into whatever it is that you're sitting or lying on.
Let's begin by taking a deep breath in and sighing the breath away and another deep breath in and sighing the breath away.
Now if you're feeling ready and comfortable to do so,
I invite you to close your eyes.
Take another deep breath in now and allow the cleansing oxygen to fill your lungs.
As you exhale,
Allow yourself to let go just a little bit more and to begin to relax.
Take your attention now down to your feet and to the earth below you.
Feel into the connection that your body makes with the earth and imagine that you have roots growing out of your feet,
Anchoring you down into the earth below.
With each breath,
Imagine and visualise these roots growing out in all directions,
Growing wider and deeper and stabilising you into the earth below.
Know that you are fully supported.
On your next breath,
Imagine that your roots have reached the earth's centre and picture or imagine a huge ball of golden light,
The energy of Mother Earth.
As you inhale,
Draw this energy up into your roots and up through the earth to your feet.
As the energy reaches your feet,
Imagine it now rising up,
Swirling all around you,
Up to your head,
Surrounding you in supported,
Loving energy.
This energy forms a protective golden bubble around you.
Within this bubble,
You are completely safe,
Supported and held.
You feel safe to experience whatever comes up for you during this meditation,
Knowing that you are completely supported.
Now imagine that in front of you is a staircase leading to a door.
In a moment,
You are going to walk down the staircase.
Place your hand now on the rail and begin to descend.
With each step,
You feel more and more relaxed,
More and more at ease and you begin to let go just a little bit more.
Feel your face soften,
Feel your eyes go a little bit heavier.
As you begin to completely relax,
You are halfway down the stairs now.
You keep on descending.
As you reach the bottom,
You can see a door in front of you.
Notice the door,
Its size,
Its shape,
The colour.
You put your hand on the door and you gently push it open and enter the room on the other side.
As you enter,
You notice a fireplace and a sofa across the room.
You feel drawn to walk over and sit down.
As you make your way across the room,
You notice the window and several pictures on the wall.
You see that these are images of you at various stages and ages in your life,
Your past,
Your present and the future.
You reach the sofa and you're just about to sit down when the door opens and you turn to see a figure entering the room.
This figure is your inner child.
Notice now how old they are,
What they look like and what they are wearing.
They bound over towards you,
Excited to see you.
Arms open wide and you feel an immediate and instant connection,
An overwhelming sense of unconditional love.
As you hug them,
You invite your younger self to come and sit with you and your inner child begins to talk,
Telling you how proud they are of you for achieving all that you have,
How strong you are and how much they have missed you.
You hug your inner child tightly,
Telling them that you love them unconditionally and that you are also proud of everything that they do for you,
Even now.
As you sit together,
You turn and ask your inner child if there is anything that they want to tell you or if they have any messages for you that they want to relay to you.
Your inner child begins to talk to you.
You're able to ask them now any questions that you have for them and they are able to ask you any questions that they have for you.
Take the next few moments now to sit with this younger version of yourself and to listen to whatever it is they have to say,
Any questions they have to ask and feel free to give them any comfort,
Any love,
Any reassurance or support that they may be needing right now from you.
You are the mystical parent of your inner child,
So reach out now and give that younger version of yourself all the love in your heart.
Let them know that they are safe.
Let them know how loved they are.
Let them know that they are enough no matter what.
It's now time for your inner child to go.
But before they do,
You are going to be able to reach down and they hand you a box.
They then stand ready to leave but before they go they tell you that you can come back at any time to visit them.
They would love to have your comfort.
They would love to hear your voice.
You make them a promise now that you will protect them and love them no matter what.
That you will definitely bring more joyful activities into your life as a way to connect with them more regularly.
You turn your attention to the box in your hand,
Noting its size and its shape and how it feels.
You open it and inside is a gift from your younger self.
At the bottom of the box is also a piece of paper.
On the piece of paper is just one word,
A single word from your younger self to you.
You take note of the word and you place it back in the box with the gift.
Then you head back towards the door that you came through.
The door where your inner child has just left.
You open the door and you see the staircase ahead of you.
You place your hand on the rail and you begin to climb the stairs.
With each step you feel lighter,
Calmer,
More content knowing that the messages you have received are a significant and meaningful part of your journey.
As you reach the top of the staircase you feel completely at ease and ready to journal about the exchange that has just taken place between you and your inner child.
Now take a deep breath in and as you exhale begin to bring some movement back into your body.
When you're ready open up your eyes and set the intention to now journal about your experience.
