Hello,
I'm Claire and this meditation for you uses the calming and spacious clarity of the stars.
It can be useful if you're feeling tight,
Contracted or overwhelmed at this time of stress,
Wishing you the very best in your practice.
Making sure you are safe and comfortable whether sitting or lying.
I invite you to gently shut your eyes.
Allow your attention to fall softly back into your body,
Into the interior of your body.
Bringing the focus away from the head and the shoulders where stress tends to live down,
Down,
Down.
Bringing your focus,
Your attention,
Your intention into the inside of your body.
Sitting or lying at this time in this place.
Breathing normally,
I invite you to bring your attention to your breath.
Enjoying the feeling that when you expand,
When you inhale,
You're inhaling and expanding not just with your lungs,
But with every cell of your body.
And as you exhale,
As you breathe out,
I invite you just to come to rest.
And I like to have the attention on the inside of the body because then you can really feel the whole body is engaged right down to your toes and your fingertips.
Breathing in,
Expanding,
Breathing out and resting.
In your own time,
Breathing in,
Breathing out.
And if you like,
As you breathe out,
You can imagine you are beginning to let go of anything which no longer serves you.
Anything that you no longer need nor want.
Not needing to name these things.
More allowing on the out breath just to drain or soften away from your body down,
Down,
Down through those places where your body is touching the support of the earth and down into the earth.
Very softly just letting go.
On the in breath expanding.
On the out breath resting and beginning to let go.
Anything you no longer need nor want from the crown of the head,
All down through the cells of your body,
Down through the underside of your body and into the earth.
And when you are ready and you can pause this audio at any moment to take longer if you need it,
We are going to begin to turn the attention towards the stars,
Towards the sky,
Towards the heavens,
Towards the ethos,
Towards infinity.
Infinite possibility.
Infinite healing.
And if you feel like it,
I invite you to clasp your fingers and stretch your arms over your head.
Now if this isn't possible or you don't want to,
You can just as well do this in your imagination.
So clasping your fingers whether in real life or in your mind's eye,
Stretching above your head and then opening out the fingers,
Giving everything a little sugar,
A little shake.
Fingertips pointing to the stars.
Give them a little wiggle as if you are connecting all the way up to the stars and then just softening in your wrists,
Your elbows,
Your shoulders all the way down to your coccyx,
Your tailbone.
Looking up,
Opening your breastbone,
Your sternum and looking up to the ceiling,
Up to the sky.
Again,
This is perfectly possible in your mind's eye or with your hands actually reaching up.
But what I invite you to do here is to surrender to the possibility of the goodness of the stars,
The spaciousness of the stars.
And then just resting your hands down,
Coming back to upright or your resting position.
But keep your awareness open to the ethos,
Open to the heavens,
Open to the stars.
If you are sitting upright you can do that through the crown of your head or the whole of the upper side of your body.
Just be open to the ethos.
And then if you have had that experience of being outside on a night where the stars are really sparkly,
You can remember that,
How clear they are,
How close they feel.
And if you haven't,
You can imagine it.
So just being with this infinity of sparkling stars above you,
Really quiet,
Really spacious.
And I invite you to choose one star and trust that this star is the source for an infinite amount of calm.
And that star through the star light is beaming all the way down through the crown of your head or the upper side of your body into the cells of your body.
So imagine there's an infinite amount of calm.
It's infinite.
I can't imagine infinity and probably you can't either.
We can imagine an infinite source like a spring bubbling behind the star,
An infinite source of calm through the sparkling star,
Down the star light,
Through the crown of your head and into the cells of your body.
Into your bones and bone marrow.
Calm into your muscles and fascia,
The connective tissue.
Calm into your nervous system,
Which spreads throughout your body.
Calm into your organs,
Your heart,
Your kidneys and all the other organs,
Your glands.
This doesn't have to be anatomical,
Just the invitation of calm into every cell of your body.
And let's take another star.
This star has an infinite amount of spaciousness and allow that spaciousness,
Spaciousness of time,
Spaciousness of feeling,
Spaciousness to pour down through the star light into your body.
And perhaps there's another star with peace,
Calm,
Spaciousness,
Peace,
Falling effortlessly into every cell of your body without you needing to change,
Deserve or be anything different from who you are right now.
Spaciousness circulating in your body.
Calm spreading through your body.
Peace.
Peace with your breath,
Calm with your breath,
Spaciousness with your breath.
Opening to the goodness of the blessings of the stars.
And I'm going to bring this meditation to a close,
But if you choose,
You can just carry on and trust that you have activated these beautiful,
Beautiful qualities to support you in the finding spaciousness for yourself.
Thank you for practicing with me.
