Find the calm and relaxation of a whale as you journey through the ocean. Tap into your inner peace, practice relaxing breathwork, and discover the power of affirmations. This mediation is suitable for children who are 3+, but everyone is welcome to join in! Please be aware that adults may find the pace slightly quicker as this was created for children. Younger children may need a grown-up to support them with their affirmations.

Hello,

Welcome to this meditation led by Claudia Silas,

A mindful movement and meditation teacher.

Find a comfortable position,

Either sitting or lying down.

See if you can close your eyes and take a few deep breaths.

Breathing in,

Breathing out.

Breathing in,

Breathing out.

Breathing in,

Breathing out.

Let's go on an adventure.

Now imagine yourself swimming like a fish in a beautiful ocean.

The water is calm and crystal clear but you can breathe deeply still.

All around you,

You can see colourful coral reefs,

Fish and other creatures swimming around.

You can hear the underwater sounds of bubbles and animals moving.

You feel the cool water against your skin as it gently moves in rhythm with your body.

As you explore the ocean,

You start to swim a little deeper down towards the sound of a whale calling.

You spot this beautiful big whale in the distance.

Notice how calm and relaxed they are.

You see the colours of the whale as they swim slowly through the water.

You feel safe and relaxed too as you decide to swim to the whale.

The whale's huge tail moves with ease as they swim calmly up and down.

The whale begins to turn its face to you.

It has huge gentle eyes and smiles as it notices you.

It lowers its huge head down,

Nodding at you and asks if you would like to come on an adventure.

The whale swims a little deeper so that you can climb onto their back,

Feeling your body relaxing into the smooth skin of the whale.

The whale's huge body supports you and you hug it,

Feeling safe.

Together,

You and the whale explore the depths of the ocean.

You see schools of fish darting around you,

Colourful coral reefs swaying in the currents.

The whale moves with ease and grace and you feel safe and protected in its presence.

As you continue to swim with the whale,

You notice that your breathing has become slow and steady.

You feel relaxed and at ease and your worries and fears have melted away.

After spending time with the whale in the ocean,

You thank them for guiding you and taking you on a journey.

Calmly,

You slide off the whale's back and they turn to face you,

Nodding once again before slowly disappearing into the depths of the ocean.

Now you take three big breaths in,

Breathing in and breathing out.

Two more big breaths in and breathe out through your mouth.

One more big breath and let it go.

You can carry this feeling of relaxation from the whale and tap into this inner calm whenever you need it.

Before we finish today,

I want you to repeat these affirmations to yourself.

I am calm.

I am calm.

I am calm.

Now you.

I am relaxed.

I am relaxed.

I am relaxed.

Now you.

I hope you enjoyed today's journey with the whale.

Carry this feeling of calm and relaxation with you.
