Welcome to a guided meditation that invites you to attune to a beautiful,

Powerful,

And protective light of comfort.

Begin in a position that is comfortable for you,

Either sitting or lying down,

Allowing the body to sink into the earth and be supported by the earth.

Relax the shoulders.

Relax the jaw.

Now allow the eyes to close.

If you feel any tension or tight spots in any part of the body,

Take the awareness to that body part and consciously relax that body part.

Always know that you are in a safe environment and sacred space.

Become aware of any external sounds you can hear in this moment.

Simply allow those sounds to just be there.

Now visualize the body lying on the earth,

The parts of the body touching the earth,

The entire body being supported by the earth.

Now move the awareness from the external sounds to the sound of the breath as it flows freely and naturally between the nostrils.

Maintaining awareness of the breath,

Continue to breathe through the belly.

With each inhale,

The abdomen is expanding.

With each exhale,

The navel is drawn in towards the spine.

We will now deepen our relaxation by bringing peace to ourselves through mindful breathing.

Inhale to the count of two.

Exhale to the count of four.

Inhale,

One,

Two.

Exhale,

One,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Do this several times.

With each inhale,

The body is becoming more and more relaxed.

The body is becoming soft,

Loose,

And calm.

Allow this feeling of relaxation to grow inch by inch throughout the body.

Inhale inspiration.

Exhale all negativity.

Breathe in light.

Breathe out all uncertainty.

In your mind's eye,

See before you a source of light.

This can be a lamp,

A candle,

A lantern,

A star in the sky,

Anything you choose.

Presently,

There is no light coming from this source,

But you are aware of its presence.

You are aware of exactly where it is.

This light source is within your reach,

And it will illuminate as soon as you choose to activate it.

Spend a moment now establishing a sense of trust with this light source,

Becoming assured that it is constantly there for you,

Waiting for you,

Becoming assured that you are always able to reach it,

Becoming assured that it will always illuminate whenever you want it to.

Take a deep breath and release it slowly.

Do this again,

Only this time as you exhale,

See yourself activating your chosen light source,

And it awakening with a beautiful,

Powerful,

And protective light.

Take a few moments now to absorb this light and be nurtured by it.

See,

Sense,

And feel that you are being surrounded by an uplifting and protective glow.

You feel joy as you bathe in this light,

Fully knowing that nothing harmful can pass through it,

Knowing that you can rest and be at ease,

Knowing that anything that has been causing you to worry or be fearful has retreated.

Just as a lighthouse guides ships safely to harbor through uncertain waters,

So too will your nightlight give you hope,

Assurance,

And peace during times when you feel as though you are surrounded by darkness and uncertainty.

This light is always there for you whenever you need it,

Because it resides within you.

Just like a nightlight,

This illumination has rendered the unseen powerless against you,

For it is no longer unseen.

It is simply not present at all.

When you turn on this light,

You will find yourself able to relax,

Sleep,

Or go along your way in peace.

Bring your awareness back to the breath,

The natural,

Quiet breath going in and out of the body.

Maintain awareness of the breath and feel it growing stronger and steadier.

Take a slow,

Conscious,

Deep breath in and let it go completely.

Allow the mind to become external now.

Shift the attention to sounds within this room,

The sound of the breath,

Sounds of the earth,

The sound of my voice.

Be aware of the sounds around you.

Be aware of the body.

Be aware of the breath.

Begin to invite subtle movements into the hands and feet,

The fingers and toes.

Perhaps you will choose to stretch lightly.

Do whatever feels natural and comfortable to you.

Take another deep breath and release it slowly.

May you always find light during times of darkness.

The crow flies from me to thee to send the message,
