I'd like to invite you on a ride to your inner world.

You can do this seated or even lying down,

Just wherever feels best for you in this moment.

If you like you can either soften your gaze or gently close your eyes,

Relaxing your face,

Your shoulders,

Your entire body.

I invite you to take a few deep breaths in through your nose and very slowly out through your mouth.

Just noticing your stomach rising on the inhale and falling on the exhale,

Similar to the ocean waves.

And now I'd like to take you on a journey filled with gratitude.

Picture yourself riding along a beautiful path surrounded by trees.

And as you travel along this path,

Give thanks to your eyes for enabling you to see the world around you.

The sun as it peeks through the leaves.

The trees as they dance in the wind.

The clouds as they float through the sky.

And anything else you appreciate thanks to your sight.

And now give thanks to your ears for enabling you to hear birds singing.

Water from a gentle stream and the soothing ocean waves.

And now give thanks to your sense of smell for enabling you to enjoy the scent of your favorite flower and the salty sea air.

And as you ride along this path you notice a bench and decide to take a seat.

And now give thanks to your taste buds for enabling you to enjoy your favorite hot drink.

And now give thanks for the gift of touch for allowing you to feel the warm sunlight on your face.

The feeling of being barefoot on the grass or sand.

And the soft fur of your pet or favorite animal.

And now take a nice deep breath and notice how you feel in your heart.

Connecting to a feeling of love in your chest as you give thanks to your five senses for helping you to really enjoy your life.

And now picture a loved one coming to join you on the bench.

Someone who always brings a smile to your face.

Thank them for being in your life and tell them how much you love them.

And now picture someone joining you who you trust and is always there when you need them.

Thank them for all they do and how much you appreciate them.

And now picture your pet or favorite animal come and rest its head on your lap.

Thank them for their unconditional love as you sit together in peace.

And now give thanks to your family,

Your friends,

Your community and everyone you've ever met.

Thank them for being in your life and for helping you become the person that you are today.

Picture all of your loved ones with you now and smile as you realize how much you are loved.

Finally,

Take a nice deep breath and give thanks to the present moment for being here right now,

For taking care of your well being,

For your body,

Your home.

You then look down at your map and notice the shape of the route that you've been riding along.

A beautiful heart shaped route,

A route to remind you to visit this path often to keep you full of gratitude as you ride your way through life.

And now you can either continue to give thanks or if you're ready to return,

Slowly bring awareness back to your breath,

Your body and to any sounds around you.

And if you like,

You can move and stretch your body in any way that feels good.

And when you're ready,

Slowly open your eyes,

Taking a moment to look around you and give thanks to everything that surrounds you.

I invite you to now bring your hands to your heart and smile,

Just noticing how you feel.

Remember,

You can return on this ride as often as you like to help fill your heart with gratitude.

My wish for you is love,

So much love that it spins out from under you onto all of those around you.

Your wheels are your paint and the world is your canvas.
