Good morning and welcome to The Artist's Morning.
My name is Darius and I'm so grateful that you and I get this time together.
Let's begin our practice.
If your eyes are open,
I'd like to invite you to gently close them now.
As we begin to go inwards together,
Just take a moment to allow your body to settle in,
Allowing a gentle softness to work its way from the top of your head down,
Down,
Down,
Down,
Down,
All the way down to your feet,
Softening your forehead,
Your jaw,
Your shoulders,
Just letting any tension melt away.
And we use the breath to bring new energy in with our inhales,
Imagining new creative energy coming in through your inhale,
New life force,
New vitality coming in through your inhales,
Big inhale.
And then we let go with our exhales,
Let go with your exhale.
And if on this particular day,
You'd like more energy,
Take deeper breaths.
If on this particular day,
You'd like to let go of more things you do not need,
Take bigger exhales.
And don't be afraid to let your voice take up more space.
Let's do one together.
Deep breath in,
Big exhale with some noise,
Loosening the jaw as you exhale,
Energetically,
Intellectually,
Spiritually,
Letting your system know you are safe here,
You are allowed to take up space with your breath,
With your voice.
You are allowed to go slow.
You are allowed to rest.
You,
Dear one,
Are allowed to let go.
And take a moment to notice what happened to your breath as I shared those statements.
For some of you,
Your breath became shallow.
For some of you,
You even started to hold your breath and contract.
That's okay.
When we hold,
We stiffen.
When we hold,
We close.
When we hold,
We make it much more difficult to receive.
Let's practice together.
Place both your hands,
Palms up in front of you.
And now,
Clench your fists and contract them and hold.
Squeeze,
Squeeze,
Squeeze and feel the squeeze in your shoulders,
In your arms.
Squeeze,
Squeeze,
Squeeze.
This is not an optimal position to receive anything.
Now let's take a deep breath in and release and let go.
Ready?
Deep breath in.
Big let go.
Just let go,
Let go,
Let go.
You,
Dear one,
Are allowed to let go.
Are allowed to let go.
Continue taking deep breaths,
Opening your channels through your breath.
Breathing in.
What we hold on to has a hold on us.
What are you holding that has a hold on you?
And if you want it to continue holding you and if you want to continue holding it,
That's okay.
And I know many of you would like to step forward in a new direction.
And that becomes a lot easier if we unclench our hands that are actually holding something behind us.
If we find a way to let go and come here now.
This is a much more joyful position and posture.
Here now is the most powerful posture that exists in the universe.

And for some of us letting go is more challenging and that's okay.
There's no comparison,
There's no timeline.
We go slowly,
Gently.
And when you're ready,

Just take a moment to ponder,
To reflect.

Let's take a nice deep breath.
I free myself from past stories that limit me.
I free myself from old narratives of who I used to be.
I free myself of comparison.
Today I choose to free myself from past pain and hardship.
I am here now.
Today is a new day.

Today is a fresh new canvas.
Just take a moment to breathe that in.
The newness that's available to you here.
Letting go of anything you no longer need to carry.
Keep breathing.
Keep allowing new energy in.
Keep using your exhale to clear,
Clear,
Clear anything you no longer need to carry.
Anything you no longer need to carry,
You can let go of.
Anything you no longer need to carry,
You can let go of.
Notice what happens to your heart as I say those words.
Does your heart contract?
Does your breath contract?
Are you able to keep your heart open to continue breathing and energizing your heart in that place?
This dear one is our last song and I'm just going to leave a little space for you and your heart to play,
To dance.
To imagine what your day,
What your week,
What your year could be.
If you are able to let go of who you thought you were and step in to who you are becoming.
