Let's start by bringing some attention to the breath,

Deepening the inhale,

Lengthening the exhale,

Allowing it to feel good and nourishing to your body.

Bring some attention to your posture,

Allow the base of your spine to connect with the seat or floor beneath you and feel the spine lengthening gently upward,

All the way to the top of your head.

Without artificially straightening,

Allow the back to feel strong,

Poised,

And send the breath all the way up and down your spine,

Rooting at the base,

Lengthening upward naturally,

Breathing into this strong,

Comfortable posture.

For today's meditation,

We're going to do an imaginal exercise and I want you to remember two things,

That this is your imagination,

So you are safe to be pushing some edges that might feel uncomfortable,

Knowing that you can stop when that feeling becomes overwhelming,

And also to have fun,

To allow what might not be real for you in this life to be real for you in your imagination.

The only rules in your imagination are the ones that you put there.

So imagine yourself standing in a room.

There are no windows,

There's no one nearby,

It's just you in this room.

And faintly in the distance,

You begin to hear some music playing.

And without any conscious thought,

You notice that your body is moving to this music.

Your foot is tapping,

Your arms are swaying,

And it feels really good.

The music begins to increase in volume,

And as it does,

Your movements become bigger,

Bolder,

More expressive.

And you notice that the more you move,

The better you feel.

You are alone in this room,

Feeling into the freedom of moving your body with no inhibitions.

The music is getting louder and louder until it's filling up the space.

You can feel it moving through your being,

Almost like it is what is controlling your body more than anything else.

And as you allow this to happen,

You notice how cleansing,

How delicious it feels to move your body freely,

Without thought,

To release through movement.

Notice any parts of you that feel activated by this free movement.

And without stopping,

Your imagined dance.

Allow them to speak as you move.

Allow your movement,

Growing in courage,

In grandiosity,

In feeling good to be your response.

There is nothing holding you back now.

You are alone in this room,

Dancing as freely as you ever have,

Allowing the music to move through you as it swirls around you.

It feels so good to move in this way.

Let it be so.

Notice what it feels like in your body to allow this freedom.

Now,

As you continue to move,

You notice out of the corner of your eye a door in the corner of the room.

And this door opens,

And through it,

You see people begin to come into this room,

Into this space.

And while you instinctively feel this urge to stop dancing,

You notice all of these people,

Ones you know,

Ones you don't,

Are looking at you with such awe,

Such appreciation,

Such admiration and sweetness.

You notice that they are beginning to move the way that you do.

And as they fill into the room,

You recognize that you are leading this dance now.

You recognize that the freer you feel in your movements,

The sweeter your offering is to everyone else in this room.

They are smiling at you,

Beaming at the expression of your joy.

And again,

Notice the parts that feel uncomfortable by this.

Allow them to speak and allow your movement to be the answer.

In this imagined room,

You are safe even among all of these people.

And you notice that it feels good to be leading them in this ecstatic dance.

Feel what it's like to be leading this dance,

To be held in appreciation and admiration for the freedom with which your body is flowing.

You notice the music is coming to this crescendo,

This finale,

And allow your dance to meet this crescendo with even fuller expression.

As the music fades out,

As it ends,

You look around and notice everyone in this room with you is closing their eyes with one hand over their heart,

One hand over their belly,

And their breathing.

You follow them this time,

Closing your eyes,

Placing one hand over your heart and one over your belly,

Listening to the body.

Notice what you hear,

What you feel.

Allow whatever messages that need to come through to come through.

Placing both hands over your heart,

Bow your head and thank your body for this freedom of expression that is available to you whenever you choose to imagine it.

As you bring attention to your breath,

Start to come back into the room that you're in.

Move the body if that feels good.

And that concludes today's meditation.
