This is the fifth in the series called "Your Meditation Journey". After centering, we'll focus on visualizing a beautiful blue ball of love right in the center of our chest, that is growing, expanding, evolving. Then we'll picture it encompassing our entire body, then shining out to emanate this beautiful love to all those we care about, to people we meet, to animals, trees, and the Earth itself. Then, we'll turn this love around and have it shine into our own hearts, loving ourselves. Join me.

Thank you for joining me again.

I really appreciate your dedication to your own meditation practice.

I've been meditating since 1976 and there have been times where I didn't meditate and lots of times where I have for months and months.

And since you're here today I just want you to know how much I appreciate your commitment to your own meditation practice.

This is the fifth in the series called Your Meditation Journey and this meditation follows the first four in a natural way.

The first installment was about relaxing our physical bodies,

The second about slowing down our minds and our thoughts,

The third calming emotions,

And the fourth,

Once we have our body slow down and our thoughts slow down and our emotions calmed,

Then we can experience a nice level of peace.

So following this sense of peace is this step and this step in this meditation series is about expanding love.

So let's move into it.

So as you move into the meditative state and relax your body,

Just remember the previous meditations allowing this warm wave of relaxation to move down your body from the top of your head as you take nice easy breaths,

Inhaling and exhaling.

And as your body begins to relax with this wave of relaxation moving all the way down your body from the top of your head to your feet,

And you can begin to also slow down your thoughts as we talked about in the second meditation.

So to observe your thoughts,

To watch them slow down as if they're in a process in front of you,

Moving in front of you like on a movie screen or on a train,

And just slowing down the playback,

Slowing down the train.

And then as we did in the third meditation to calm your emotions,

To feel your emotions coming to a state of peacefulness,

Of stillness,

Of quiet.

And that here in this moment none of the things that you may be worried about or concerned about or upset about are happening.

In this moment all you're doing is sitting here meditating so your emotions can calm down.

And once those three steps are complete we move into a state of peace.

And from that peacefulness we open up our hearts to expand the love that we generate and the love that we feel.

And one way to think about this,

One way to create this kind of expansive love within us,

Is to imagine a ball of blue light right in the center of our chest.

And this ball of blue light is love.

The love we feel for those we care about.

The love we feel for our work,

Our contribution.

The love that we feel for ourselves that we want to expand.

The love we feel for this planet and our life on this planet.

And the love we feel for life itself.

For life flowing through us,

Holding us,

Evolving us.

So allow this blue ball of love,

This blue ball of light,

To glow stronger and stronger in the center of your chest.

And then imagine it growing bigger so it fills up your whole upper body.

And then bigger still so it fills up your entire body from head to toe.

So now you're standing inside of this blue ball of love.

Use your imagination to see it,

To feel it,

To think about it.

Allow yourself to feel it emanating out from you as if a glowing light of blue love is shining out from you.

And allow yourself to feel this blue light of love sinking in to every cell in your body.

Give yourself permission to love bigger and bigger.

Allow this blue light of love to grow stronger,

Brighter,

And to shine out from you in all directions.

Let this love pour from your heart out to all the people that you care about.

Allow this blue light of love to expand out,

To emanate light all around you,

To all that you meet,

To the creatures of the world,

To plant life to the earth itself.

And feel yourself at the center of this blue light of love that is shining everywhere,

Starting with your own heart.

And then turn this blue light of love so that it shines directly into your heart,

So that this love that is emanating from you is pointing toward yourself,

Loving yourself,

Holding yourself in esteem and affection and respect,

And growing this love stronger and stronger within you,

For you.

It's very,

Very important that you love yourself as big as you possibly can.

We human beings have the potential to love infinitely,

To grow love,

To expand love.

We want to include our own selves so for you to include yourself as a direct object of your own love,

Forgiving,

Letting go,

Caring for yourself,

Practicing extreme self-care.

So just for a moment sit with this love.

Feel it emanating out to everyone you know and to the world around you,

And pouring back in so you're loving your own self.

Let this love move through you,

Expand through you,

For just a few more moments.

Allow the life that is all around you,

The animals,

The plants,

The people,

The wind,

The sun,

The rain,

All of life,

Be a part of this love and help to strengthen and empower the love that you feel.

Hold this love for one more moment and then let it go.

And we'll begin to move out of this meditation now,

Remembering this powerful love for ourselves and for our life around us,

And carrying it with us through the rest of the day.

When you're ready come out of the meditation,

Come back into the room that you're sitting in,

Back into your body,

Back into this time,

And when it's right open your eyes.
