Welcome to today's breathwork session.
Take a moment to get comfortable in the space that you're in,
Releasing your jaw slightly to ease any tension in your mouth area.
Draw your shoulders down away from your ears and begin to let go now.
Take your attention away from the outside world,
Draw it down deep into your breath.
Feel that breath flowing through your body in this moment right now.
We're going to begin today with our calm breathing technique and for this we're going to inhale through the nose to a count of four and exhale through our mouth for a count of eight.
So let's begin this together now.
Let's take it in two three four and out two three four five six seven eight.
Good.
Again in two three four and out two three four five six seven eight.
Good.
Continuing in your own way now,
Setting your own rhythm,
Your own pace as we relax down today and I invite you to come with me on a walk in nature during springtime.
So continuing with that breath now,
Ground down where you are and imagine yourself resting in the living room of a house.
It doesn't have to be your own but somewhere that you feel comfortable and at peace.
You've been listening to the pitter patter of rain on the windows for a while now but have just noticed a ray of sunshine reflecting around the room inviting you to join it in an adventure.
Imagine peeling yourself off a deep sofa and slipping your feet into a pair of welly boots.
You grab a light jacket as you unlock the door and step out into the daylight.
The air is thick with the fresh scent of damp grass but you notice the horizon is shining bright and the possibilities seem endless.
After rain must surely come sunshine.
Better days are here.
Springtime.
As you take a step your boots swipe across the wet blades of grass,
Lightly caressing the lawn as you gently advance beyond the garden gate.
Chitter chatting.
You notice a gathering of birds advancing into the sky clearly in conversation as they welcome you to join the party.
You've not noticed the splendor of their presence in your past.
Small details are becoming clearer to you,
Taking the time to lean in closer to your surroundings,
Breathing in calm,
Breathing out relaxation.
You breathe in sync with nature.
Everything around you is reliant on your presence and in turn you're reliant on theirs.
Heading on you hear the gentle flow of a stream.
Ripple by ripple you explore its heartbeat as it travels downstream.
The bubbling brook is the essence of life within the stillness that lies beyond.
Looking closer you spot a small clump of frog spawn.
New life awaiting to enter the world.
A stark reminder of the renewal that spring brings.
New life.
New life.
Rebirth.
Springtime is a chance to breathe life into new plans and intentions.
Freedom of movement within the cool breeze surrounds you.
You lean down to swell your finger in the water for a brief moment.
It's invigorating,
Inviting,
But you must press on.
There is so much more on offer for you on this fresh spring day.
Rounding the corner you enter a complete expanse of blue.
Cool,
Calm and serene.
Detailing the gentle nudge of the objects below as the wind whips through you notice the nod of a sea of bluebells.
What you would give to spend the day enveloped by the scent of these blooms.
But something in the distance catches your eye.
It will take you a moment to reach,
But you are intrigued by the soft pink hue calling you.
Taking a moment to pause you breathe in two three four and out two three four five six seven eight before finding yourself moving over to the mirage before you.
A lone pink peony stands within its plants beckoning you to crouch down beside it.
You take a moment to explore it in its entirety.
The delicate nature of each individual petal alongside the sweetness nestling deep within your nostrils.
In this moment right here you begin to inhale through your nose as you breathe in its scent two three four.
At this time breathing out through your mouth you blow those petals away in the breeze one two three four five six seven eight.
Again in two three out two three four five six seven eight.
Watching those petals rise higher and higher now one more round at your own time.
Breathing in deeply down into your low belly taking in that beautiful scent before releasing watching those petals float away feeling that relaxation now.
As you bask in the beauty of the experiences out in nature on this magnificent day you hear the far off rumble of a cloud warning you to head back.
The unpredictability of weather at this time of year.
How lucky you were to venture out at such a moment ducking to protect yourself from the impending raindrops.
You tiptoe lightly across the expanse retracing your footsteps back the way you came hurriedly through the gentle bluebells careful not to disturb their meeting hopping over the stream twisting around a blossom tree fleeting glance up to its offerings the final wave to a bird overhead as you whip through your gate and finally shelter in your cozy home.
You spring back onto the sofa and nestle down beneath a light blanket in awe of the sights that you have just seen.
Take a moment to pause here and turn in breathe in a way that feels comfortable to you now.
Take a moment to think about the observations that you've just made promise that spring brings with it.
Are there any intentions you have for this springtime?
Allow the breath to guide you with those thoughts and feelings now and take a few moments to yourself and when you're ready bring your attention back now to the close surroundings and the space that you're in Are there any sounds that you can hear?
Begin to bring some energy back into your body now maybe wriggling your toes or your fingers embracing yourself into a hug stretching out wide really elongating your arms your legs your fingers your toes and take a moment to bring yourself back round into the room ready to move on with the rest of your day.
Thank you for joining me in another Breathwork session.
