Hello and thank you for joining me today.
Firstly I'd like you to take a moment to get comfortable in the space that you're in and take a few moments to ground down and feel completely open and relaxed,
Ready to experience the healing power of the breath today.
So pull your shoulders away from your ears,
Maybe part your jaw slightly to release any immediate tension in your face,
Your neck and your shoulder area right now.
And lightly close your eyes or hold a soft gaze.
Begin to turn your awareness away from the outside world now,
Switching off from the sounds and the sensations around you externally and begin to turn inwards and turn your attention to your breath.
Where can you feel that breath flowing?
Is it in the rise and fall of your stomach or chest?
Can you feel it rising through your throat or out through your nostrils or your mouth?
Just breathe in a way that feels comfortable to you right now.
Take a moment to check in,
How are you feeling?
Without judgement just observe and become aware of how your body and your mind and your emotions are feeling in this moment today.
And when you're ready I'd like you to take that breath down into your lower belly and breathe wide and full into that space,
Imagining that air filling up on that inhale,
Up,
Out and around your body and then release on the exhale,
Emptying out all of the air from your lower belly area.
Today we're going to use the heart coherence technique to sync up our present self with our inner child.
Learning to hold space for our inner child can feel a bit strange and a bit uncomfortable.
Why do we need to go back?
Why would we unearth past trauma?
It can be painful but it can also be liberating.
And thank yourself for coming here today to lean into this practice.
To begin we're going to inhale and exhale through our nose for an equal count of five.
So let's go together.
Take it in,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five and out,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five and in,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five and out,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Good.
Continuing with that breath at your own rate and rhythm but noticing how it feels to really slow your breath down.
Today by syncing up our breath we are learning to live besides our inner child.
Nurturing our inner child helps us identify what is ours and what is not.
Thinking about emotions we often get confused,
We're not clear about what is ours to tend to and what is not.
So showing up for ourselves like you are today allows you the space to sort through things and really work into those emotions to heal,
To soothe and to live alongside that inner child of ours.
So continuing with that beautiful heart coherent breath as it reminds us that there is no separating our current self from our younger self.
The past experiences that we've had can and will impact us.
So ignoring our negative or traumatic experiences means that we are neglecting ourselves.
We must learn to live in sync and offer compassion to the broken parts of ourselves that we sometimes do not open our arms to embrace.
By breathing into our heart space in this way,
Inhaling and exhaling,
We are learning to find acceptance,
A peace within ourselves.
We are stepping intentionally into our healing as it can be a pathway to growth.
Remember that your inner child is part of this story.
Engage with them,
Let them help you to grow,
Remembering their voice is your voice.
So as you breathe into that heart space now,
I would like you to imagine that your inner child was a colour.
Maybe you would like to connect that to an emotion.
How did your inner child feel?
And I'd like you to inhale that colour into your heart space.
Notice how it feels to hold that space there,
To feel into that energy just for a moment.
And on your next round,
I'd like you to exhale that colour throughout your entire body,
Welcoming your inner child to live beside you.
Do not silence them.
You are welcome,
You are part of me and we live together.
By showing up in this practice,
You're improving your relationship with yourself,
With the whole of yourself.
And in turn,
You may notice your relationships with others shifting.
You're no longer going to be carrying the hurt,
The trauma,
The past experiences that have negatively impacted you.
By shedding them and moving that energy around with your breath,
Releasing,
You're restoring yourself.
You're giving yourself permission to be open to higher feelings such as peace,
Love and joy.
Good.
Keep moving through that breath.
In,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five and out,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
In,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five and out,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Good.
By learning to love yourself,
Yourself and your inner child,
You'll notice yourself begin to blossom in your healing.
This is where the true work begins.
Tuning into yourself and really noticing how that feels,
How that acceptance,
That gratitude,
That compassion for yourself and your inner child really feels.
So I'd like you to take that breath back to your normal breathing pattern,
A pattern that feels comfortable to you and take a few moments now to just turn in and really look into your body.
What has come up for you now?
What is it telling you?
How does that acceptance feel?
Well done.
And when you're ready,
Start to bring some energy back into your body,
Moving your toes or your fingers.
Maybe your body is telling you to take a deep stretch or maybe the call is to surrender and spend a while longer embracing yourself and your inner child.
I hope that you've enjoyed the practice with me today and I look forward to seeing you again soon.
Thank you.
Bye.
