Welcome.
In this meditation,
The third episode in our series,
Embracing Your Body,
We'll focus on the amazing things your body does every day without you even having to think about it.
I invite you to settle into a comfortable position.
If it feels right,
Close your eyes or simply cast your gaze down and take a deep breath.
Inhale and exhale slowly.
Allow your body to soften into the surface beneath you,
Supported and safe.
Now bring your awareness fully to your breath.
Notice the gentle rise and fall of your chest and belly as you breathe in and breathe out.
Without any effort,
Your body takes in oxygen,
Sending it through your system to nourish your cells.
Isn't it incredible that this happens naturally without you needing to control it?
Let's shift our attention to our heart.
Take a moment to contemplate it and notice any sensations around the chest.
Can you feel your heart beating?
Steady and constant,
Your heart pumps blood throughout your body,
Delivering oxygen and nutrients.
You don't need to tell it what to do,
It already knows.
Take a moment to appreciate the strength and resilience of your heart.
Now let's bring our attention to the digestion.
Whether you've just eaten or it's been a while since your last meal,
Your digestive system is working.
It's transforming food into energy,
Breaking it down into the nutrients your body needs.
Imagine all of this is happening right now without you needing to do a thing.
Taking a moment now to contemplate the amazing systems within your body,
Working quietly in the background.
Your body is always protecting and supporting you,
Keeping you healthy and resilient.
It heals,
Strengthens and restores balance even when you're not aware of it.
If it feels right,
Join me in the following affirmations to cultivate appreciation for the body's wisdom and miraculous functions.
My body is a miracle,
Constantly working to keep me alive and well.
I trust my body to take care of me and I appreciate all it does.
Each breath,
Each heartbeat is a reminder of my body's wisdom and strength.
And now feel free to start lengthening your breaths,
Letting the in-breath come in easy and smooth and the exhale flow out soft and full.
And slowly and gently begin to bring your awareness back.
And when you're ready,
You can start to move and in your own time,
Gently open your eyes.
Thank you for practicing with me today and during this three-part series.
