As most first responders know,
Where we are has an influence on our experience.
So finding a comfortable place away from distractions is a great way to start this meditation.
Sitting or lying down now,
You can begin to pay attention to your breath,
And you can begin to bring that breath in a little longer,
All the way in,
And then all the way out,
Letting the air fully out,
Long,
Slow breaths in,
Slowing down your thoughts,
Slowing down your breath,
Slowing down this very moment,
Just letting everything slow down a little more.
As you continue to breathe in through your nose,
Understand there's nothing you have to do here,
Only listen to my words and notice how your body effortlessly responds to these suggestions.
Slow and easy breaths,
And as I guide you to a comfortable,
Deeper state of relaxation,
You might notice a natural desire to close your eyes,
And you can do that if you haven't already,
And just let yourself continue to drift down into this easy comfort,
Flowing from the top of your head all the way down to your toes,
And as you listen to the sound of my voice and the words that I say,
You can rest assured that this is a pleasant experience,
Bringing benefits to you in new and unexpected ways.
As you allow distractions to fall away,
While you listen to the sound of my voice,
Guiding you even deeper down,
Just breathing easily and comfortably now,
That's right,
And as you keep drifting down,
You might imagine that far away,
Down a long hallway,
There's an elevator,
And you should expect this elevator to be a swift passageway down into your rich imagination,
Because you can imagine,
Or just pretend you can imagine,
As you move closer to the elevator,
You can notice the doors opening when you get there,
And after you step in,
Notice the doors closing behind you.
The elevator begins to go down,
Further and further down into the velvety blackness of your imagination,
Down to a place where imagining is easy and natural,
Down to a place where you are comfortable and safe,
And all the way down to a place so inviting and welcoming,
A place where you can find pleasant,
Easy contentment,
And whether you see it or just feel it,
It doesn't matter.
You might find somewhere old and familiar with comforting,
Positive memories,
Or perhaps it's somewhere unexplored,
That you've only dreamed of.
Either way,
It's emerging in your imagination,
Waiting for you now,
And as the elevator stops and the doors open,
You can step out into this welcoming place,
Where everything is designed just for you.
Here you are.
You can explore easily and safely,
Because there's nothing to bother you,
Nothing to disturb you,
Nothing to get in your way.
Listening to my voice helps you go deeper into this wonderful sense of belonging.
You can breathe so easily here and relax more than you may have ever relaxed before.
You might notice how the light illuminates,
How the temperature is just right for you,
And as you take your time to enjoy these moments,
You can begin to understand how easy it is to let go of any unnecessary worries,
Any unnecessary hurt or pain,
Or anything that isn't serving your best interests right now.
Your unconscious mind knows just what has been a burden for you,
And knows how to help release anything that's no longer needed.
Your unconscious mind can help let go of any thoughts or feelings that you don't need anymore.
And all the while,
You can just relax and enjoy the easiness here,
The deepening contentment,
The melting away of cares and concerns,
Because as they all dissolve,
You can allow this comfortable space to open up a little more in you,
Just like sunlight filtering through the leaves,
Letting more light in and bringing with it genuine wonder and curiosity,
Streaming in and filling all the small spaces,
Ever expanding,
Becoming even brighter and lighter,
Unburdened,
So free so easy and natural,
Opening to new opportunities,
And you can enjoy this knowing it was meant just for you,
Shining with clear positive energy,
And you can use this new energy in any way that is best for you.
Your unconscious mind knows what you need,
And you can take your time,
And in a moment,
But not yet,
We'll say goodbye to this place.
And like puzzle pieces shifting into place,
You can process all you've learned here,
Your own imagination's design,
Just for you,
Always welcoming,
Always inviting,
Just waiting for you whenever you want.
And as you bring this new understanding away with you,
You'll return to a waking state on the count of five,
One,
Arriving easily to a new understanding,
Two,
Everything settling in like the last piece of a puzzle,
Three,
Coming together smoothly as you reorient to a wakeful state,
And four,
Rising up to the surface,
Breathing fresh,
Clean air,
And five,
Eyes open,
Wide awake,
Feeling better than before.
