Welcome to this bedtime meditation designed to help you relax deeply and prepare for a restful restorative sleep.
This is your time to let go of the day and guide yourself into a peaceful state of calm.
There's nothing you need to do,
No tasks left to complete.
This moment is just for you.
Let's begin by finding a comfortable position in bed.
Allow your body to settle,
Feeling the support beneath you.
Close your eyes gently and take a deep breath in through your nose.
Then exhale slowly through your mouth.
Let's do that two more times.
Deep breath in.
Once more in.
Now,
Let your breathing return to its natural rhythm,
Soft and easy.
We'll start by gently releasing any tension in your body.
Begin by bringing your awareness to the top of your head.
Notice any tightness in your scalp,
Forehead or temples.
And as you exhale,
Imagine that tension melting away.
Move your awareness down to your eyes.
They may have worked hard today,
So allow them to soften.
Relax the muscles around your eyes and let your eyelids feel heavy.
Now bring your attention to your jaw.
Notice if you're holding any tension there.
And on your next exhale,
Release it.
Let your jaw hang loose and relaxed.
Feel this relaxation spreading down into your neck and shoulders.
As you breathe in,
Imagine the breath bringing warmth and ease to these areas.
And as you breathe out,
Release any tightness or heaviness you may be holding.
Let this warm,
Soothing sensation travel down into your arms,
All the way to your hands and fingertips.
With each breath,
Your arms feel heavier and more relaxed.
Now,
Move your awareness to your chest and abdomen.
With every inhale,
Feel your chest rising gently.
And with each exhale,
Feel it fall,
Releasing any remaining stress.
Continue to breathe as you shift your focus to your lower body.
Feel your hips relax,
Your thighs soften,
And your legs become heavy and restful.
Finally,
Bring your attention to your feet.
Allow your feet to feel completely supported and relaxed.
With every breath,
Your entire body is sinking deep into comfort and stillness.
You are fully relaxed,
Safe,
And at peace.
Imagine yourself in a serene,
Peaceful place.
Somewhere that brings you a deep sense of calm.
Perhaps it's a soft,
Quiet meadow under the night sky.
Or maybe you're floating on a gentle,
Warm sea under a blanket of stars.
Picture yourself lying down in this place,
Feeling completely safe and relaxed.
The air around you is warm,
And the gentle breeze whispers softly,
Carrying away any lingering worries.
With each breath,
Feel yourself sinking deeper into the soft ground or the gentle water beneath you.
The sky above is dark,
Dotted with stars,
And the night is calm.
As you breathe,
Allow your body to melt further into this peaceful place,
Fully supported,
Fully at ease.
As you rest in this calm space,
Let's invite peace into your mind and body with a few affirmations.
Silently repeat these words to yourself,
Allowing them to resonate.
I release the events of today,
And I welcome rest.
My mind is calm,
And my body is relaxed.
I am safe,
I am peaceful,
And I am ready for sleep.
With each breath,
I sink deeper into rest and renewal.
Continue to repeat these affirmations in your mind as you breathe,
Sinking further into relaxation.
Now,
As you drift closer to sleep,
I invite you to set a gentle intention for the morning.
Think about how you want to feel when you wake up tomorrow.
Perhaps it's waking up refreshed,
Full of energy,
Or feeling calm and ready to embrace the day.
Silently set your intention now.
I will wake up feeling.
.
.
Imagine yourself waking up in the morning,
Feeling exactly how you want to feel,
Whether it's rested,
Peaceful,
Or energized.
Hold this intention gently in your mind as you drift towards sleep.
Now,
Let go of any remaining thoughts or worries.
Imagine them as clouds floating away in the night sky.
There is nothing more to do.
Nothing more to think about.
You've done all you need to do for today.
Allow yourself to drift into a deep and restful sleep,
Knowing that your body and mind are restoring and rejuvenating.
Feel the weight of your body sinking deeper into the bed,
Supported and calm.
With each breath,
You're falling further into peaceful sleep.
Allow yourself to drift.
There is nothing left to do.
Just breathe.
