Welcome,
I'm Gem.
If your mind feels busy right now,
Like it keeps jumping from one thing to the next,
That's okay.
Take this space to pause and be present now.
Finding a comfortable position,
Letting your back be supported,
Leaving your head free from support,
Removing any distractions,
And then whenever you're ready,
Gently closing down your eyes and taking one deep breath in and out at your own pace,
Then letting your breath return to its natural rhythm.
And bringing your awareness to your breath wherever you feel it most.
There's no need to change anything or control the breath in any way,
Just noticing,
Just noticing the breath moving in and out.
You may notice that thoughts are still moving through the mind,
Planning,
Remembering,
Jumping around.
That's okay,
Nothing has gone wrong here.
Simply noticing and allowing whatever is here to be here.
And whenever you happen to realize your mind has drifted,
Gently bringing your attention back to resting lightly on your breath,
Knowing this will happen again and again,
Knowing that nothing has gone wrong here.
Gently observing your breath for a few more moments now.
Now expanding your awareness into your body,
Noticing how it feels to be sitting here in this moment,
Not changing anything,
Just allowing it all to be as it is.
There's nothing to fix,
Nothing to change.
Simply resting your awareness on your body.
You may wish to begin scanning your body with your mind.
Beginning at the top of your head,
Your forehead,
Eyebrows,
Cheeks,
Jaw,
Drifting down through your neck to your shoulders and down to your arms,
Getting your upper arm,
Your elbows,
Forearms,
Hands,
Fingers.
And down into your chest and back,
Noticing the breath moving in and out here.
And moving your awareness down to your belly and down through your hips,
The tops of your legs,
Noticing them against the chair beneath you.
And down through your knees,
Your calves and gently resting down on your feet,
Feeling your feet grounded on the floor.
And for the last few moments,
Simply sitting here,
Allowing whatever is here to be here.
And then whenever you're ready,
Gently reopening your eyes and coming back to the room.
Thank you for meditating with me today.
