Shvadhisthana is the Sanskrit name of this chakra,
And one translation I've seen of this name is the dwelling place of the self.
This chakra is all about considering what you love to do and create,
And this meditation will explore the theme of water,
The element associated with the sacral chakra.
Go ahead and make your way into your comfortable meditation position.
You can be seated or lying down,
And then take a moment to settle in and make any adjustments you need to be completely comfortable.
Draw your attention to your breath,
And take a few slow,
Deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Allow your body to completely relax,
Settling in a little deeper with every exhalation.
Envisage a serene and tranquil river flowing gracefully.
Picture yourself now in a small boat on this river,
Navigating the waters with ease and effortlessness.
Feel the rhythmic movement of the river,
Knowing that the water doesn't resist or try to move in an unnecessary way.
The water flows gently along the path of least resistance.
As you move along the river,
Embrace the idea that you are entering a state of effortlessness.
Imagine any resistance dissolving,
Allowing the current of life to guide you easily downstream.
Bring to mind a time in your life where you felt fully absorbed in and energized by a project or hobby,
And take time to really picture that,
Recalling all the feelings that arose from finding this state where your skills and natural abilities allowed you to easily take on a challenge.
If you're struggling to bring to mind that time in your life,
Know that you don't need to force anything.
You can simply be here,
Visualizing yourself moving along this river that you've pictured,
And you can also simply be here and breathe.
If you have that picture in your mind,
Sense your boat gliding along the river,
Effortlessly navigating twists and turns,
Welcome the happiness and satisfaction of surrendering to the flow,
Trusting in your ability to adapt to the journey ahead.
Allow yourself to continue visualizing moving effortlessly along the tranquil waters of the river for a few more moments.
Notice where your attention is as you gradually bring your awareness back to the present moment.
Notice how you're breathing deeper.
Notice the positive energy flowing easily through your entire body.
Know that you can always reconnect with this feeling and the ever flowing rhythm of life.
